Since I had a great response about my earlier inquiry about swimming lessons, I thought I would give it another shot:) Any recommendations for gyms/fitness clubs in palmetto/bradenton? Since i have a 5 month old, it would be great if they have some kind of child care available for mothers while they work out:)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all your responses. I actually signed up with You Fit in Bradenton. I was sold after I worked out with the personal trainer there. There is no daycare, but my mother has committed to watching my 5 month old while I work out and that way I can really focus on getting back into shape.

The Bradenton YMCA is really great. Super clean and excellent workout equipment with TV/audio right on the cardio equip. The pool is very large and also clean, locker rooms are very nice and I especially like the daycare. Friendly staff. My son and I have been going since he was 6 mos old and they are great. They will come and get you if your child needs a diaper change or your attention for some reason. Lots of group exercise classes and the swimming lessons for kids (and many other activities for older kids) are included in the membership. I hope this helps.

Hi Y.. My name is D.. I work at Shapes Total Fitness for Women in Bradenton on Cortez Rd. W. Its a pretty far drive if you live in Palmetto but it is a great gym. They do have child care all week. The gym hours are 5am-10pm Mon-Thurs, 5am-9pm Fri, 8am-6pm Sat, and 9am-5pm Sun. Child care during the week is 8-noon and then 4pm-8:30 Mon-Thurs and on Fri the same except the night closes at 7:30. Sat and Suns the childcare is from open till noon both days. If you would like to come try it out, I can leave a free day pass at the front desk for you. You can try the classes or just work out. They offer spin (cycle) classes, land aerobic classes and aquatic classes. There is a sauna and steam room and this is all inclusive to the memberships. If you have any questions feel free to email me at ____@____.com

Y., I can vouch for Shapes Total Fitneess. I lived in Regency Oaks off exit 229 in Palmetto until last year and I drove down to the Shapes on cortez road (even though the one of the interstate is easy) strictly because of the childcare. Matter of fact I switched gyms to find the lady who currently runs the child facility there! Get your pass and check it out, I think you'll love it!
(I am not a sales person for Shapes) :P

I know that YMCA's have great Child Care while you work out and your child is over the 3 month mark so they watch your baby and children for free as part of the membership.
