I started going to a salon and had my hair colored and highlighted. After a few times it started to get really expensive so I went to a place I hoped would be cheaper. The women who did my hair said it just needed to have the roots touched but next time it needed the highlights. It looked OK to me but after two days I washed it. When I combed it out I noticed that the roots out maybe 11/2 inches being red. I returned to the salon the women who did my hair was not there. Another sytlist plus the owner were there they would not give me a reason why it happened. Free of charge my hair was done over but some of the red is still there. Could someone give me a reason why that happened.

What can I do next?

you got "hot roots" due to the heat of your scalp while processing. The answer is you will have to have it colored there, with an ASH color, because green cancels out red. It still can show some, but after a time or two, it will be unnoticable.

If you hair is blonde, than the pink color just means it hasn't processed far enough. So it would need to be processed, and then a tonor would need to be put on it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,

A.

I know that I have a lot of red undertones in my natural hair, so there is a certain way it has to be colored and highlighted to make sure it doesn't turn out red. I would go to another salon if you continue to have problems. It's all in the way they mix the color and you should have it fixed before you leave!!

Also, I have well water and use a certain shampoo a couple of times a week that removes the extra "stuff" in the water. The water, over time, tends to make my hair not take the color as well. Also, there is a proceedure they do at the salon about every 2 or 3 months...that strips out that stuff, too. I couldn't believe how much better my color looked after treating it!

Hope this helps!

My first guess is that it not the right mixture for your hair. I would go back in tell them you still are not happy you want your money back. Then go to another salon and get it fixed. You may not want to go back where you were but I would go to another salon - or if there is a beauty school where you live it is cheaper - they do a good job and the teachers are there with the students. And it would be a teaching lesson to fix your hair.
