Hair Dye Question, Is It Ok to Redye Yet?

I used a semipermanent color in my hair that had a little red in it and my hair is now pinkish purple tone and I can't stand it. It says on the box it washes out aftyer 28 shampoos. It started looking a little better after like 10 shampoos but I still see the pink after 20 shampoos. It's been 3 weeks. How can I get the color all out or cover it? Can I redye it yet without my hair falling out breaking off or turning some weird color because of the pink? HELP!

What can I do next?

Try shampooing with dish detergent (Palmolive/Joy, etc.).

Then, I agree with Momma - let a pro handle it.

I'm a hairstylist. Best to leave color corrections like this to the pros.

In the meantime, Sally's does have a color remover you can use to get some of that color out, just go in and ask them.

I once dyed my hair and it came out Bozo the Clown red (this was on a Friday).
I called the hot line number that was on the box and after talking with them they determined what I needed to do to tone it down (re-dye with a darker color - they told me what color to use) and I should wait till Sunday to do it.
My hair felt a bit dry (conditioning often was important) but the new color was good.
I think after 3 weeks you should be fine to use another color to change it.
