sounds like you might have enough hair cut off that you could donate it to locks of love, that provides wigs for people in cancer treatment.
I have very long (almost waist length) very curly, very thick hair. Right now it is very dry and frizzy. I just don't have the energy to deal with it, so I made an appointment for Thursday...I just have NO IDEA what I want to do! :) Short, long, curly, straight, etc. My hair grows about an inch/month (if not more) so I typically try and stay clear of perms/relaxers, because they grow out so fast.
Where do you go for inspirationfor your hair? To find styles you like and that will look good on you (with your facial structure, etc)? HELP! :)

My hair is quite wavy (but not quite curly) and also gets HUGE and frizzy in the humidity (it has a somewhat course texture). My hair is shoulder blade length and I'm growing it out.
What works for the frizzyness and hugeness for me is straightening it. I also use anit-frizz creams, heat protectors with anti frizz and I have an light oil I can put on it if there are too many fly-aways. Plus, a shine / anit frizz combo I use on occasion. I'm not sure straightening is an option for you since yours is so curly... If you do go this route, divide your hair into sections (bottom, then middle, then top etc) when flat ironing - much easier and better result.
But I wash it every other day (otherwise it gets too dry), so I only have to straighten it every other day and this saves me lots of time. On the no wash day, I just do a quick touch up with the flat iron, if needed. Luckily, I don't have oily hair, so my hair often looks better on day 2 b/c it's more tame :)
Funny about what Marda P mentioned - I am doing that on the 28th.
While not curly, just wavy, my hair is also to my waist. I am getting cut to about shoulder length and layered to thin it out a bit. That way I can always pull it back, head bands, hair band etc.
And of course I know it will grow back!
SInce chemicals are out and you are after ease...the best thing to do is to encourage your hair to do what it naturally does. That's much easier than fighting against it.
If it's curly with all that length on it, it will be curlier when you cut it. Embrace that. If you go too short, it ends up being more work to style, and more frequent trips to the salon for maintenance. Shoulder length hair is the easiest to deal with. You can put it all up or half up or leave it down. Cut some long layers into it to add face framing and bounce. You mentioned dry hair, so switch to moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Garnier Fructeese, Dove, and Pantene really hydrate. They make dry hair shiny and soft.
I find inspiration for my hair by looking at celebs. Yes, I had the Rachel for many years! I have naturally curly hair. WHen I want to encourage that, I let it air dry with curling mousse on it. I scrunch it while it's dry and just hit the bangs with a hair dryer - to look sorta like this

When I dont want to be as curly, I think more Victorias Secret Modelish. I blow dry the whole thing with a round brush and use a fat curling iron to make it piecy, bouncy, and sexy. Like this

Medium length and go with the curls. Short hair will be way more work than you are used to. Get some long layers and go with a good, experienced stylist if you are doing a big change. Don't go to super cuts. :)
