In all likelihood, you're going to have a level 2 ultrasound after 18 to 20 weeks...just ask the technician to sneak a peek!

I was wondering if anyone used the intelligender gender test at home to see what the sex of their baby was? I wanted to know if it really works.
Thank you to everyone who responded to me. The test was WRONG!!!! It told me the baby was a boy when in fact my ultrasound showed us that I am pregnant with a baby girl!! Don't waste your money on the test. My OBGYN said that is not possible for the test to determine the sex of your baby based on a urine sample.

No, I haven't tried that one. However, here's what Parent's magazine has to say about this one (and it's free):
"A Chinese birth chart supposedly predicts the gender of a baby with a 93 percent accuracy. Find out if legend has you having a boy or a girl."

The link is above, this worked for us and others we know. But only an ultra sound will really tell :). We even tried the gold ring on a string test, and that was actually wrong for us and friends of ours at work.
Hope this is helpful.
I've never heard of the intelligender test, but my girlfriend told me she did some kind of weird thing at a joint baby shower with her and her sister in law that basically did the same thing. Okay, this sounds really weird, but I think it had something do with mixing your urine w/ Drano crystals, I think??
Apparently there is a chemical color change that occurs when it's one sex or the other. I'm sorry, I don't remember which was which. My girlfriend thought it was really, really stupid, but it actually worked. Her SIL was having a boy, and my friend turned out to have a girl. One cup remained the same color, the other changed after about 20 minutes..
Later she was talking to a relative at the shower who was a labor & delivery nurse, and she swore by it..
If the Drano experiment is the real deal, the commercially produced test probably uses the same or a similar chemical compound, just at a drastically increased price.
there's also a "chinese-pregnancy-calendar" based on your age of conception and the month of conception that you can google and try. I've tested several subjects including myself and 5 of out 6 of us the calendar predicted the correct sex. Good luck and congratulations!
from what i read the home gender tests are not reliable at this time. but blood tests are- i used a blood test called pink or blue geneder test. you could find out at 6 weeks gestation which was 8 weeks preggo. i waited until 10. very specific instructions-pierce finger and have the blood drop fills two circles on a piece of special paper. you cant have a male in the room, have to wash your hands, ect. sent it in and in a few days got my email with (its a girl). we confirmed it all the way to the end at our ultrasounds. i would def do it again. in pregnancy, your body gets the fetal cells in your blood, so basically they are looking for the y chromosome since you are female. it was pricey but i was happy with the experience and would do it again. it was a money back guarantee at the time and was said to be 99% accurate.
that being said, since you are so far along, and getting an ultrasound, i wouldnt bother. if the urine test tells you something and its wrong, you may be disappointed. and the blood test is too expensive to "know" just a week or 2 earlier. if it were much earlier, i would get the blood test, or may even get the urine test, but not really believe in the results, kwim. good luck!!!
My family has used this method for all of our children (neices, nephews, etc). It has worked for everyone! So good luck.
