Health Issues After Pregnancy

I had two babies 19 mths apart. My youngest is going to be 6 mths soon. I got stones in my gallbladder from my first pregnancy but that was it. After my second I still am having issues. I have to go the the bathroom constantly, I wake up more at night because of this then my daughter nurses. I fell sick and get bad stomack pains when I don;'t eat for a few hours and headachs too. I have some lower stomack pain like I did when I was pregnant, happens more when I walk fast etc. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative so did the one my doctor did. My doctor is not sure what is going on and is running some tests. I am desperate to get my old self back. I am gaining weight because I have to eat otherwise I get sick and have pain. If I nurse my daughter at night I will get a severe stock and chest pain that goes away as soon as I get up and eat something. My belly still sticks out that you could mistake me for being pregnant still. I am exhausted and have no energy. I don't know if this could be related to not having a gallbladder or my body not realizing I am not pregnant still. I need help, the bathrooms breaks alone are taking away too much of my sleep. I need to feel like my old sleep, full of energy etc. Has anyone had similular experiences?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I did have my gallbladder removed after my first baby (when she was only 4 mths old) but I seem to have more problems now after my second baby.

I know the feeling of being sick with a little one... I was in and out of the hospital off and on for 6 months...each visit for a week at a time...while my son was just one years old... I had ulcerative coloitis...I had my colon removed...had a temp. iliosotmy and reversed...
From what I understand gallbladder surgery is done laperscopically... and it is a breeze compaired to my surgery. I would go see the doctor you saw for the gall stones issue... If he/she can't help see a gastro doc.

I hope that you get help soon so you can feel better...
I will pray for you!

Hey B.,
I am so sorry that you are feeling so yuchy! I too had horrible gallbladder problems w/ my second pregnancy. I would get severe pains on my right side, go to my left side and up my back, while I was pregnant. My son was 2 weeks old when I had my gallbladder removed, and I was better almost right away. You need to talk to your doctor about getting it removed. I was told once you have sotnes, they never go away. I also had several stones myself, and I know how bad the pain is! Take care of yourself, and before you know it, you'll feel better! Hope this helps! M.

Hi B.-

There are a number of things that I went through after my son was born...he will be two in August. You could start by asking your doctor to check you for fibriods and cysts...if they are inflammed due to multiple births then that would cause a lot of pain here and there and affect you. I was having problems not being able to lose weight no matter what I did and I look bloated. I went to a hormone doctor and had my hormones check by blood test. It turns out I was very very low on progestrone which gives you energy and turns your fat stores into energy....I went because a friend told me to go and I am glad I did...I feel so much better and my insomina has almost dissapeared.

I hope this helps

Hi there. It almost sounds to me like you are possibly a little dehydrated. Holding onto weight, low energy, lower back pain can all be signs of dehydration. Are you getting plenty of fluids? Since you are nursing and we live in this heat, you may want to up your fluids even more. Also, do you take minerals? I take Isotonix OPC-3 and it has made all the difference in my energy level. I have 3 children so I spent most of my twenties being pregnant and nursing. You know the toll that takes. My first thought is that you should evaluate your fluid intake and also look at your diet for hidden sugars, fats etc. I hope you feel better soon!

B.,

I have an 11mth old. She was my third child. While I was pregnant with her I had a few gallbladder attacks (stones). The attacks got so bad that by the time she was 6mths old I had to have my galbladder removed. It sounds to me that you are having similar issues. I would talk to your Dr about getting it removed. Now you are going to have to have about 1-2 days worth of milk pumped for the baby. I did and have been much better ever since. Good luck.

I am so sorry you are having such a bad time, i have not had this problem but my friend had. She had gallbladder problems right after her 2nd child was born. She would throw up after she ate. She had her gallbladder out and has been fine since. She did it when her new baby was just a few months old.i would definatley talk to your doctor. It's hard with two small ones and being sick. I hope you get better soon
