Heavy Wetter

I am hoping to get some good ideas. My daughter consistently leaks at night. She is eleven months old and still nurses at night. I don't want to night wean her. I have tried Huggies Overnights and these haven't made a difference. Any ideas on other night diapers that are more absorbent?

What can I do next?

If you have a BJ's membership, they have Pampers Ultra Absorbancy that work the best! My son is a very heavy wetter at night and they work. Before, I was having to put a cloth diaper insert in his regular diaper, but I haven't had to do that since I started using these diapers. Good luck!

I would try diaper doublers, and also putting her in the next size up diaper for the night (she can stay in the regular size during the day).

Good luck!

Going up a diaper size at night has always worked for us.
Good luck!

I had the same problem when my kids were that age. I would suggest to use a larger night time diaper and change your child diapers 2 to 4 hours after she goes to bed.

WOW! When do you sleep? I'm sure because she is older and has a larger bladder which is being filled all night is why she is leaking through. You can try Diaper Doublers which is like a backless heavy flow sanitary napkin. Go up a size in Overnights and put in a Doubler (avail @ Stop & Shop). $3 for 30. This may work. You may find the leaking continues while she is nursing through the night. We stopped at 8 months and my son still nursed throughout the day strong until he was about 14 months and then the world became too distracting and he started to wean himself. We still nurse 2x/day @ 16 months.

This may sound strange but it works. Put a sanitary napkin in the waist band of the diaper. If she is a belly sleeper it will catch most of the pee before it leaks out. I guess it is a cheaper alternative to diaper doublers.

My daughter use to do the same thing when she was nursing at night. We just changed her before we nursed so we did not have sheets to change. I also find her leaking threw all her diapers at night and she is 2 1/2. but we don't nurse any more so we are thinking of waking her before we go to bed at night. Good luck Happy New Year

I know this is going to sound weird, but my nanny recommended this and it totally worked...try lining the overnight diaper with a super absorbancy maxi pad. Good luck!

A very different solution -- If you're willing to do a bit of extra laundry, I very very highly recommend fuzzybunz. Their a brand of cloth pocket diapers that come with super absorbant microfiber towels to stuff them with (get the large towels) and if that's not absorbant enough, you can get extra towels and put 2 in. We loved them. They go on as easily as disposables, and if you're only using them at night they'll be easy to wash because it will almost always be only pee in them.

You can see them/order them at zannadu.com. They're a bit expensive at $18 each, but then again, they pay for themselves in a couple of weeks through all the disposables you don't buy.

I like Pampers Baby Dry or Cruisers. Both my daughters would leak through any other diaper I tried at night time. Hope that helps.

You could try diaper doublers- they are an extra absorbant pad that goes in the diaper.

I found them at babies r us, they were about $3 for a pack of 30.

Huggies are the worst diapers ever made! All of them not just the night time ones.
I use pampers or luv's they seem to work well. Since you don't want to wean your daughter before bed (I don't blame you I wouldn't want to either at only 11 mos) try the diaper doublers found in the diaper aisle or regular maxi pads and put one in the diaper & make sure you change her just before putting her in bed. It should solve your problem it did for my sons.
