Hi Mamas!
One thing I know we all do...laundry! And lots of it! So, I am hoping someone has a great stain remover they can recommend. My littles makes a mess of everything she wears, sometime the first time she wears it. I can get most general stains out, but some just won't go! Please help! Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi J.,
I buy the big tub of oxy-clean. I put a scoop in a liter spray bottle and spray that on all of my stains. If it is really bad, I let it sit with oxy, then put Tide detergent on and rub it in. If the stain isn't out, I do it again. It always comes out the second time. Hope this helps.

i use prespot by melaleuca (one of those things you join, safe products, etc, i can sign you up if you like,) i keep it in the kitchen and spray as soon as they stain, and just throw it in the hamper. it works great. if you arent concerned about natural, etc, there is something my mom uses called soilove, it works great, strong chemical smell. also, when all else fails, lestoil works great, stinks though. just scrub a little into the stain with a toothbrush. you might want to wash a second time to get the strong smell out.

J.,
I have three boys and a dog who I rescued who was sick when I got her and made more "stains" than the boys. She is fine now but the point is, I know a lot about stains!
I use Shaklee Green cleaning products as I did not want to clean with toxins and 2 of my boys had chronic coughs - anyway, Nature Bright is the Green product which is the bleach alternative and the H2 (used to be basic h before the makeover) can both be used. I acutally had spilled tumeric all over an of white kitchen rug (tumeric is a bright mustard color) I quickly sprayed it with H2 (the dog was right there eating so just sprayed it and walked away with the intent of coming back with the Nature Bright and a scrub brush a bit later. The day went on and the next morning, I was standing at the sink and I looked at the rug and the stain was GONE, I lifted it up and looked under it and the non skid pad was now a pale yellow.
My boys play football and baseball and are basically well, boys! Both of these products are inexpensive and you can order them at www.shaklee.net/sharethegreen or call me if you want as I have some on hand. ###-###-####.

Hi J.,
It depends on what the stain is. Obviously bleach for whites works best and yes, oxy clean works too (but not on everything I've found). Your best bet is to treat the stain ASAP after it's on the clothes. Shout works very well on most stains. I've used it for washable paints, grass stains, and dirt/mud stains (I have a son - LOL). Also, if the stain is greasy, I've found that putting some palmolive dish soap right on the stain and then soaking the clothing in cold water (sometimes for a couple hours) really works. After soaking, you rub the shirt (or whatever it is) together and rinse. Even with all that, the earlier you treat the stain after it happens the better because then it doesn't have time to "set in".

Hi J. - I find that the really tough stains that my girls make come out with the following combination..tide detergent, then spray the stain with shout, wait a minute, then pour some liquid oxy clean on the stain, and some liquid oxy clean in the wash. my 2 older daughters were famous for spitting up everything, and bile/stomach acid can do a number on the clothing. this combination saved a lot of our clothes from the garbage!
good luck!!

Hi, I use Stain Stick made by Spray N Wash. The other ones, Oxy, and the spray form of Spray N Wash don't always work for my daughters clothes. The think I love about Stain Stick is, I can usually wait until the end of the day to rub the stain stick on the stain and then it can sit in the hamper for another day or 2 if you want it too. It works great! It's not available at every store, but most stores carry it. I guess you wouldn't want your children to eat it, but I have never noticed any kind of smell to it. Good luck! P.S. Once in a while I will not notice a stain until the item has already been washed, or even washed and dried, and it sometimes will still take it out!

LESTOIL IS AWESOME. Pour a small amt. of the stain.. wait an hour and then wash.. it smells really bad.. but it works like a miracle. you get it in the mr. clean aisle of your supermarket... it even works on grass stains for baseball pants.. it's great.. just deal with the smell.
