Hello mommas! I am 10 weeks pregnant and I've been in the Orlando area for like a year or two. I normally go all the way to Melbourne for my female visits for years (like over 5 years). Well, now that i am pregnant, my doc feels it's best for me to find a doctor here in orlando. my friend recommend Dr. Hill at Lochaven(sp??). He delivered here baby girl but when I called lochaven, they don't accept Medicaid. I don't have insurance becuase I am a college student trying to make it. overall, can anyone here could tell me a very good doc that will help me thru this pregnancy?? The doctor I have is stillin residency and she is not giving me a heads up on what to expect. I get more information form the internet then her. Nice doctor but it seems she wants to be my friend and not my doc. SIGH!!! please someone help. I want a safe, healthy pregnancy and delivery. Thanks for ya guyz help!!! =)

There a set of doctors on Mercy Drive I believe the clinic is call lakeside or something like that but they have ob doctors in there and they take medicaid and Amerigroup hmo's
I had my daughter at The Birthing Cottage. They were very helpful and every appointment is about 45 minutes to go over all the questions you have. Nutrition is important and they offer food suggestions, etc. I loved my experience with them compared to previous birth at a hospital/doctor. With Medicaid they can not usually guarantee who your delivery doctor will be. I ended up in delivery with a complete stranger, not the doctor who I had been seeing, since they share on-call nights with a few different doctors (which they never mentioned). At the Birthing Cottage they have 2 midwifes and you alternate appointments so you get to know both women. They have both been delivering babies for years and their experience and wisdom is wonderful.

When I was on Medicaid and pregnant I was sent to Dr. Bowles. He's in Longwood on 434 near 17/92. I'm not sure what area of Orlando you're in, but I do recommend him. He's super friendly and informative. He always takes the time to answer your questions and I never felt rushed at all like I do with my current docs practice.
I switched when I got pregnant the 2nd time because I had moved across town so it wasn't convenient for me anymore. I lived to regret it. I hated the doc I switched to (Dr Snow) because he was so uninformative and didn't seem too concerned with the many issues I was having.
I really liked Dr Bowles a lot, he's with Physician's Associates. However, there is another doctor in that practice that is awful, his name is Mark Bielawny in their Waterford Lakes office. I tried him since thats where I live and I would NOT go there. I had a miscarriage early in my 2nd pregnancy and tried calling their office over and over, left several messages that I was miscarrying and they NEVER called me back!! That totally turned me off to that office. I would hate for that to happen to anyone else.
Good Morning. Try The Birthing Cottage of Winter Park ###-###-####. They are located off Fairbanks in Winter Park. They accept Medicaid. It is a group of midwives and nurses with an OB/GYN on call. I went to an OB/GYN for my first pregnancy 10 years ago and The Birthing Cottage for my pragnancy with my daughter in 2007. I had a much better experience. They are WONDERFUL!! Give them a call. You won't regret it.
