Porter, Collin, Bently, and Callan is realyl good as well. If I think of anymore I will add.
Middle Name Callan Thomas?
DH and I cannot agree on a name -help us. We are looking for a boy name that is somewhat modern but not too trendy. We are not fans of traditional common names such as Michael, Steve etc, but we don't want something that is ultra trendy either, (ie Aidan, etc). So far, my DH, who is Scandinavian and likes his roots, has suggested Henrik and Callan. Thoughts on either? My husband refuses to name our son anything that starts with a vowel. Any name I suggest - such as Eli, Elliot, Samuel, Will - he hates. Suggestions for a name? We need a middle name too!
Well, ladies, no luck yet. But keep the suggestions coming. I printed off all the suggestions and read them to my DH and he said no to every single one. Talk about frustrating. But, the child has to have a name, so I best not give up hope! I am just not sure what to do!
Porter, Collin, Bently, and Callan is realyl good as well. If I think of anymore I will add.
Middle Name Callan Thomas?
Brayden, Jackson, Kolton, Colton, Bryson, Hunter, Blaine, Terrance, Levi, Kayden, Jameson, Cameron, Scott,
nice middle names, Michael, Scott, Lynn, James, Joseph,
I think my son has a great name - Cash Jonathan. Right now he goes by Cash but, with a more traditional middle name, he has the option of going by Jonathan, as well as using his initials C.J.
I think Hayden, Nolan, Mckay, Caleb, Logan. I would not go with Henrik.
We have Chase Eliot, Mason Jarek, Dallas Christopher and Zander Christian. My cousin named his son Hayden Tucker...love it! Some of my other favorites are: Asher, Cole, Declan and Justice. There are some others I can't come up with right now.
Best of luck...I'm sure you'll pick a great name!
How about Mason or Colby?
Tristan, Jackson, Liam, Avery, Asher, or Jasper
Good luck... I always think the name should flow, so without knowing your last name it is hard to tell...
Callan is kinda cool, and also Cullen
I like Callan...I haven't heard that before. I saw someone mention Cullen - but that is going to be a popular name now just because of the Twilight books.
My all time favorite boy name is Gage. It is modern and not too popular.
I also like Max, Rowan, and Rand or Rance.
My nephews are Jared, Leo and Wyatt. A girlfriend recently named her boy Tate. I like Liam but my husband doesn't like it. Good luck!
Myles, Lincoln, Jackson.
Damon or Parker.
Those two names were my favorite when I was pregnant, but we ended up having a girl so we couldn't use them.
I love the idea of a Scandinavian name because your son will actually be Scandinavian. It would be cheesy otherwise. Henrik would definitely be called Henri by his friends later on, which is adorable, and I know a couple of Callans that are now called Cal. I think that you should definitely get to choose the middle name, vowel or no vowel, if Dad gets the first name.
On another note, how about Charles Henrik and call him Charlie (a personal favorite of mine)?
Love the name Callan definite no for Henrik.
I love Callan, but I don't care for Henrik. It sounds too German and 1940s. Just my opinion.
I love the name Avery.
how about JONAH LEE, i also like the name JONATHON REECE!!, i have a few suggestions but im sure as a mom to be you would name your child with a perfect name!!!
AARON RAY
BRYAN ANTHONY (BRY-BRY)
JEDIDIAH HENRIK
CALEB ISAAC
MATTHEW ISSAIH
hope that one of these names you like!!! AND CONGRADZ ON YOUR NEW BUNDLE OF JOY!!! <3
BTW: IT DOESNT MATTER IF HENRIK IS NOT POPULAR HERE IN THE U.S., MAKE IT POPULAR BY NAMING YOUR SON THAT!!!
my son is Khayman Dean ( like Cayman islands ) khayman is egyptian for " fierce warrior"
i have never to this day heard anyone else with that name or spelling.
I like the idea of pairing a not as common first name with a traditional middle name. Here are my suggestions:
Mason James
Gage Michael
Garrison Adam
Riley Scott
Aaron Joel
Jackson Todd
Hope this gives you and your husband some inspiration. Take care.

Heard the name Cash the other day and loved it! (Also spelled Kash or Cache...) And he's bound to be good looking with a name like that, right? Just sounds like a hot guys name to me.. hehe:) I love it!
I also like Declyn (also spelled Declan and a billion other ways too)
Good luck with your name searching!
Cullen, Cooper, Hayden, Kayden, Jayce, Quinn
I love my grandson's name Kaden Christopher (2 yrs) (can use KC as a nickname) but we usually just call him boo-boo or Willis. I like both Henrik and Callen, though. Cason, Skylar, Thor are names i know of from your husbands roots... or how about taking the "andin" out of Scandinavian and adding to that....keeps his roots in a diff. way...sounds great too!
How about Graham or Quinn? I also love Ronin...
Good luck~ We had a terrible time choosing a name for our son... much harder than girl names for some reason!
My husband hates it, but I love Matteo. I also really like Mitchell - my maiden name, so that's probably mostly why I like it - another veto by the hubs! Logan is another one... I like Henrik! Good luck.
Here are my sons names Devin Wade
Elias Xaden Parker Jakoby
Joshua Preston
Feel free to use any if you like them :-)
I love the names, Julian, Trevor, Tyler, Aaron, Ryan and Ian. I don't know alot of people with those names so I don't think it's super trendy and I don't think it's too traditional either.
I really like roman and bentley. If we have a little boy we are going to name him roman and ray for his middle name. Good luck..
I don't care for the name Henrik and think people will confuse it for Henry. I have a grandniece named Callan so I think of it more as a girl's name.
My grand nephew is named Torin Jacob. At first I wasn't sure about it but now I really like it.
I love the name Chance. My FH didnt like it so we named our son Aiden Chance. Before we found out the sex of the baby Im carrying now (girl) I was thinking of boy names. Zacariah and nOah were my favorite.Callan is unique and cute. I have never heard it. Callan Henrik would be good also. Good luck
Just remember the poor child has to live with this "modern" name you are giving him. Everyone would need to know your last name in order to come up with a first name. Think about how your child will feel when the other children make fun of his name. Good luck.
Not a fan of Henrik for a first name- as someone else said, it sounds too 1940's German. I've never heard of Callan.
Some ideas- Spencer, Hudson, Camden, Simon, Liam, Leo, Kole, Thad, Winston, Oliver, Theodore, Frederick, Owen, Griffin, Sheldon, Henry
Drew Alexander. It was our "boy" name but we had 2 girls so it's up for grabs. =)
My 4 boys are
Ethan Blake, Mason Eli, Liam Reese, and Quentin Asher.
Henrik Demissie
Callan Paz
Wynn Paris (a musician I know...)
Caleb Elan
Sean Robin (my son's name..:)
Jack Finlay
Elias Pyle
Cedric Colm
Tristan Jay
Anton Henrick
Ansel Nicholson
Byron Paine
I have never heard of either one. Callan sounds more for a girl. Henrik... I just plain out don't like. BUT this is not my baby. Whatever name you give your baby will be what his name is. So think long and hard before giving him an odd name.
But I guess if you name him Callan you could possibly call him Cal for short.
What about Collin Nathaniel? That's a little not so common but still not far out there.
Good luck and congrats!
My cousin named his son Matthias.
How about Nathaniel Scott or Joshua Charles? My ex husband and I named our son Elijah (after a biblical prophet) and his middle name is Edmund which was his great grandfather's first name. There is a beautiful Jewish tradition: you name your child after a deceased family member that meant a lot to you. I wish you luck and Mazel Tov on your up and coming bundle of joy.
I actually like Callan... maybe that as a middle name?
My daughter has a friend named Callan and I can never remember how to say it...to the point it is ridiculous.
I like Henrik much better. I have always liked the named Brock. I think it sounds very masculine.
Find the right first name and then come back to us for the second name.
Love the name Henrik (but then again, I'm 1/2 Scandanavian), and Callan as well (although I keep switching Callan to Callum, but that's the Scottish side of me kicking in).
Tanner...Malichi...Nathaniel
Have you tried the Baby Name Wizard? It is a great book that has tons of lists of names. Like sounds like or if you like this name, you might like...
I found mine at Target, but I'm sure you can get it cheeper off Amazon. A really great tool.
i named my son Kiel.(kyle) I wanted something "normal" but with a little kick to it! good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!
Hayden, Hudson, Kirin, Dylan, ILAN, Kai, Ryder, Jaden, Seamus, But Henrick might be called Henri.
You might want to google some of those names before picking them...after a brief glance through the list, I came up with a few bloopers; Colby ( a type of cheese!!! ); Bentley ( British automobile ), Kohl ( just short of Kohl's, the retailer ).....Cullen might be an Irish cabbage soup..... :)
I agree that I'm not sure I like Henrik. People won't know how to say it, and I personally like names that aren't easily misspelled or misprounced, I grew up with one! I wanted my kids to have names where you'd met at least one in your life. I love Callan, but I think I'd spell it Kallen or Callen, so it's not pronounced Cal-Ann. One of my favorites we never got to use is Kellen.
You've got some cool suggestions below, I also like Avery, Griffin, Parker, Trevor, Porter, Mason, Preston, Xander, Miles, Dean, Cole, Chase, Gage, Hayden, Leland, Logan, Quinn, Graham, Bentley, Caleb, Keegan, Chase, Elliott, Collin, Corey, Leo, Wyatt, Brant, Spencer, Carson, Carter, Harrison, and Colt.harder to pronounce but I love them -Taio (tye-oh) and Teo (tay-oh). Let us know what you pick!
Evan, Ethan, Jett, Ryus,... My nephew's middle name is Henrik. I found names for boys were harder for me and my husband. Girls names, for us, was way easier!! I like Caden, Cole.. Good luck!!!
not to be too blunt but :( I like to consider what they will be called in school, nicknames and how they will tease them...good luck
We just named our son Asher Gray- I love it. Asher is somewhat modern, but is actually in the Bible. My new nephew's name is Caden. I like that one too!

I love the name Callan that your DH suggested. My older son is named Gavin (a bit more popular than it was 11 years ago). And I have a 6 week old named Colton (DH picked it out).
Callan James
Callan Lee
Callan Michael
Callan seems to go with many names.
Good luck!

I really like the name Henrik. I am living in Sweden now and it's a very traditional name but not very common.. I have known a couple of Henriks or Henricks and I have liked them all.. great people so the name is always positive in my ear.. Personally I think Callan is a little confusing.. could be that i have been out of the US for awhile but I'm not sure how I should pronounce it..
Parker or my grandson is named Porter
