That's me. I generally get more family sessions because I have small children. I'm trying to capture more seniors so if you like me work shoot me an email @ ____@____.com and I'll make you an awesome deal just for the exposure. Where does you son go to school?

Hope to hear from you.

I also have a senior this year and it is overwhelming. My only suggestion is to take pictures yourself or if you have a friend that is a good photographer ask them if they will take them for you. (The senior photo for the yearbook is usually free.) I think the best pictures are taken outside. Go to several photographer's websites and get some ideas of locations, poses and props. The photographer that I am using in not cheap, but he recommended that instead of the formal invitations that you order from Balfour with a wallet photo placed inside, that I do a picture collage invitation that he would create for about the same price. He did this with his kids and it was very well received. So, if you take your own photos, then you can have collage cards made on Shutterfly or even Walmart photo, that can be sent out as Graduation Announcements.

When my son graduated, he didn't want the traditional senior photos. We took our own photos at home against my brother's modern abstract artwork and my son holding his guitar. I included the photos in his graduation invitations. I did let him go to the potrait studio for a free photo but we didn't like the photos and the photographer used a digital camera. Everyone commented on our photos since they recognized my brother's artwork in the background and thought we were at his art gallery.

My daughter is a Senior and it is crazy.

Blunk's Photography did the traditional photo for the yearbook (free) with the "tux" and "drape" for the students back in June. They give everyone the proofs and you order if you want to. They are pretty pricey.. I am getting a very small package just for gifts and it is over $300

We are having personal senior pics done soon as ( when the $400 Varsity cheer jacket arrives). I use Alex Lee H-D Productions. He does all of the shooting for the sports teams and has captured some great shots of our daughter. He also did the prom shots for us in April.

I think the students decide how many invitations they want and order them when the order the cap and gown (not positive about that)

I don't know how some people are keeping up with it because it is very expensive. Every time I turn around it is $100 here $300 there. Fortunately we are sound enough to cover it but I feel for a lot of the families going through this.

Get creative with your pics and invitations. Do you have a friend who is a good photographer? Find a good spot and start shooting pics! Same with the invitations, look online and design your own if needed.

If you are like us... your mailbox is FULL of advertising of photographers and college info.

Good luck to you and your son... the time has certainly flown by.
