I don't know of any homeopaths in the area (though I'd be interested in finding one). I do know of a midwife who is also a Naturopath, though. (You can find her here: http://www.myhealthfreedom.com/cms/index.php?id=59 ) Regardless of finding an alternative doctor, you may want to look for another pediatrician who will explore options beyond simply medicating the symptoms.
It sounds like your baby likely has food allergies, which often cause problems like eczema and repeated ear infections. Try removing the major allergens - milk, eggs, wheat, soy - from his and/or your diet (while breastfeeding). You can try one at a time. Keep track in a notebook/journal of his symptoms and what foods he's eating, as well as what you're consuming if nursing. This may give you a good clue as to what it is. When the food is removed, you may see a drastic improvement, or you may see gradual improvement over time. Don't expect full results for at least a few weeks. There are wonderful resources for allergy help out there, including other mothering forums with large areas dedicated specifically to this type of issue!
I applaud your searching for new answers! Steroid creams are pretty scary. When he flares, try calendula creams, which many eczema-moms swear by. CaliforniaBaby.com also has a trial pack of items that are loved by their customers for eczema, so you can try a variety and see what works best for your little guy.
