Sevin dust is awesome stuff, just make sure to be cautious with it. Having grown up on a farm, my parents used it in our yards every year. We used to use it on our garden every year as well. It kept the bugs from eating up the tomatoes and cabbage especially. My dad has worked with chemicals all of his life as a farmer and now works for a chemical company. You aren't supposed to use it when it's over 85 degrees outside, and be sure to let it settle very well before going back out into the yard. I found the manufacturer's site that states these facts also. It has a good list of FAQ's about what can and can't be sprayed and whatnot. http://www.gardentech.com/sevin_fastfacts.asp
I recommend it, just make sure to read about it and know what you can and can't do with it. :)
