How Do You Find a Long Lost Friend

I just tried US Search to find a childhood friend of my husband. I am so disappointed and they would not issue a refund. All I received was outdated information that I already had. What is the best way to find someone? I don't have the date of birth but, I have last known address, age and full name.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow! What a lot of responses. I found the person I was looking for through facebook. I could not believe it. I never thought I could find someone through one of those websites. We actually found his son and are now in contact with my husband's childhood friend. Thank you for everyone that suggested facebook. It is not something I would normally try but, the suggestions for facebook were overwhelming.

Facebook! I have a similar situation...I looked for years and years for a friend that I had twenty years ago. She has a VERY common name. I found her on Facebook.com along with several other long lost people. Everyone is on there! Good luck!

Count me in as someone who suggests Facebook. It's like a reunion out there with all the people I've found and some who have found me, too.

Good luck!

Try Face Book. It is FREE. I joined about a month ago and have already found tons of my friends from HS and College that I had lost touch with for over 20 yrs.

If you would be willing to share the information you have as far as full name and age and last known address I am an online search engine for detective agency's and I would run this info through for you to see if it comes up with anything else. Also I have a reunion.com account. And facebook is a good place to try. Let me know if you want me to try a search for you. Good Luck

Hi H., you may have already tried this, but look into facebook. I have found lots of my childhood friends on line and I was able to contact a few who were not on Facebook from information I received from friends who were on facebook. There is even a feature that let's you send a message to the person without becoming their friend. Good luck in your search!

I am all about myspace and facebook. I like facebook better. If you have a first and last name, it will give you everyone with an account matching that criteria, then you just have to sort throught them.

I know it sounds childish, but I have conected with many long lost friends on myspace and facebook. Like I said, I know it sounds childish, but I was amazed at the people that even found me that I hadn't talked to in 10+ years. Hope it helps. Good luck!

If you can't find him on Myspace or Facebook, I recently called an investigator. I work in an Attorney's office and we have an investigator we use often, and I called them to see if they would be able to help find someone. And for $30 they would do several searches in their databases they only licensed invest. have access to. Might be worth a shot. If you could find out their DOB that would really be helpful..but I do remember her saying that if I had the last known address that would be helpful to, so it may just be enuf. But I doubt they'll give you your money back if they can't find him! Good Luck!

You've already been given great advice - facebook, classmates, reunion, etc. Depending on their career you might be able to find them through a professional association or college alumi site. People have found me in both those ways.

have you tried myspace or facebook. You can search by name, where they graduated from. Maybe look for siblings or cousins.

Have you tried to Google the name and state? Sometimes you can find people that way. I Googled my daughter to see if anything would show up and guess what....it did! I was surprised.

The middle school newletter popped up and it was one where her picture and name were in it.
