I am looking for full time day-care, but do not need it until January 2007. Is it to early to start looking now? We would like a home day-care. I am due in September, but am taking an extended leave of absence at work. If everything stays on schedule, I will be back to work mid-January. We are also looking for recommendations for child care around the DT St. Paul area, or Roseville. Thank you!

Infant daycare is extremely hard to find in my opinion. I actually started looking early in my pregnancy and found someone during my leave but at the last minute I changed and was able to find someone else. I checked daycare again recently and nobody wants to take my 1-1/2 and infant. Since you have one infant maybe it won't be too bad but if you start now you'll find the "ideal" person. Remember to contact the Dakota Country Liscensing Center who will give you a list of daycare liscensed homes within a certain mile radius and you can then do a background check on the provider. You'll find that even though they interview well on the phone or in person they may have some hidden secrets or other issues that have been reported by people.

Hi J.,
I have an in-home daycare at my St. Paul home. I am 5 minutes from downtown St. Paul, easy access to I94 and hwy. 61. I do have children that will be starting preschool in the fall so I will be having openings. I have had a couple of families that have signed a contract 4 months in advance with a down payment to hold a spot. So with that said, if your interested in talking with me more, feel free to call me at ###-###-#### or email me at ____@____.com.
I am listed on the sight under the daycare listings, under "Hunny's Daycare". Thanks
S.

No it is not too early to start looking especially for an infant. I am in IGH and will have an opening for an infant at that time. I am not sure where you work or how far you want to drive. But you definitly want to start looking now.

I know that you are looking for inhome care but I work at a childcare center in Woodbury and the infant room has a waiting list that you would not believe! I would suggest looking right away. Inhome care can be even more difficult to find. I hope the search goes well for you and if you need any information on infant daycare feel free to contact me.
Good Luck!
