How Long After Having Your Membranes Stripped Did You Go into Labor?

At my Dr. appointment yesterday I was told that I am 90% effaced and very close to being 3cm dilated. I will be 39 weeks along tomorrow. At my appointment, my Dr. stripped my membranes. Last night I was having contractions about every half hour (Sometimes a few minutes more than 30, and sometimes a few minutes less). This morning I had one at 8:23, then another at 8:35, and another at 8:55 ...So they are a little random but about 15 to 20 minutes apart. However, I am a little concerned that these contractions are in my head because I am so excited for this whole pregnancy thing to be done... And I want to hold my son.

So... How long after you had your membranes stripped did you go into labor?

What can I do next?

Didn't work the first time but she did it again at my appointment yesterday so hopefully it will work this time.

Had mine stripped at the hospital, then had my water broken, so I guess it didn't work for me either. Good luck and congrats!!!!! Before you know it that lil one will be in your arms instead of crushing all your internal organs:D

Honestly, I had mine stripped twice and neither time worked for me. I still ended up being induced (because of high blood pressure, not because he was late). I was SO ready to meet my little guy too, but know that when it is time, it will happen. Enjoy your last few days of quiet and pregnancy before everything goes crazy! :)

I had my membranes stripped, had some contractions and got excited. But 2 weeks later had to be induced. Doesn't work for everyone.

i had mine stripped, and 2 weeks later got induced! so, didn;t work for me either. and honestly, if I ever had a doctor that wanted to do it again, I would say NO! it hurt soooo bad and we got no results! good luck and it'll happen. the waiting is the worst! oh, and true contraction will be extremely regular. I could time them with my daughter to the second. Congrats!

I guess this time I am in the minority. I have had them stripped with 5 of my 7 children and had it work twice of those times. I think that it has a lot to do with your body being ready. The times that it worked I had the baby with in 24 hrs of having my membranes stripped. The first time I had it done at 9, by 4 was in labor and by 9 that evening the baby was there. The second time was just recently and they stripped them at about 9 and by 6 I was contracting but it wasn't until 6 the next morning that the baby was here. It isn't something that works all the time but if your body is ready, it will set things into motion. Good luck to you.

Had mine stripped at week 40. Went into labor 9 days later.

Good luck, sounds like your almost there, regardless of the stripping.

I had my membranes stripped at 39 weeks also, the dr told me the best thing to do was to walk around so i did, i didnt sit down for about 9 hours...had very strong contractions aprox 10 mins apart for the entire day... still no labor... they finally induced at 41 weeks because she just wasnt coming out. lol.
