Its been about 3 years since i was last pregnant so i cant quit remember when my morning sickness stopped. With her i would just get sick in the morning and be fine the rest of the day. This one i get sick in the morning and nauseous all day. Im 12 weeks and 2 days and just wonder when your morning sickness stopped. I know they usually say 12 -14 weeks. So i would like to know when yours was over. Thanks:)
Every single person is different. Some women never get sick, some get so sick they are hospitalized. I was sick until week 15 with my son and then just mildly nauseous. with my daughter I was sick and puking up until the actual birth. but yes, the norm is about 15 weeks.

Hi Sarah
With my first it lasted the whole pregnancy but lessened about 14 weeks.
Hope this is not the case with you.
Just to know morning sickness is a sign of a healthy baby.
Good Luck

My first: I never had morning sickness and couldn't understand what all the fuss was about.
My second: I was nauseous the entire pregnancy. After a while, the only thing I could eat was unsweetened cereal and milk. Oh, and tortilla chips with salsa, black beans, cilantro, avocado, and corn. Weird.
My third: Pretty intense nausea until about 20 weeks. About 4 weeks later, Braxton Hicks started.
Each one is different. What I do know is this; they are all so worth it!

I was nauseous 24/7 for about 22 weeks, and then on and off for the rest of the pregnancy. I'm thankful I never actually threw up because I have heard that's just awful. I just had to keep snacks and water nearby at all time :)
congrats to you!

With my son I was literally sick from the moment I found out I was pregnant to the moment I had my c-section. It was horrible. I was hospitalized for 2 weeks and I had to come hom with an IV attached to me for another 2 weeks. I remember in the begining My doctor gave me nausea medicine called Zofran. It worked really well for a while.(I do know women where it worked sooo well!!! So maybe ask your DR. About it) I had that Hypermesis Gravidarum ( I believe its spelled like that correctly). So basically you are just praying to the toilet gods for the whole lovely nine months. Have you been keeping some crackers next to your bed so you can eat them first thing in the morning? Make sure you are eating things that are easy to digest also, nothing too fancy :) Im 10 weeks right now and so far so good. I havent been too nauseous. But remember its pretty common the first trimester, but if you are throwing up more than 4 times a day you need to tell your doctor. Hang in there!! It will pass!!!!

I recommend eating melon, as much of it as you can. Watermelon, honeydew, or cantaloupe, whatever you can stomach. Eat it as much melon as you can for 4 days straight and see what happens....

It doesn't really matter how long it lasted the first time. This time could be completely different. I had all day nausea from week 10-17 with the first and from about 8-20 weeks with the second. The misery of morning sickness is one of the main reasons I will not have a third child.

with my 1st throwing up plus nausea lasted 6 months then only nausea plus horrible heartburn.
2nd one 5 months then i switched to a Rx prenatal Prenexia its all plant based soft pill that tastes like chocolate how cool is that? its much easier to digest and really helped my nausea. by this one i was pro at not throwing up i still have a stomach of steel mind over body! haha.
suck on sour candies and popsicles. try to take small amounts of liquid and food, stay away from greasy or acidic food that usually contributes to nausea. you could carry a potpouri bag in your purse and smell it to soothe your stomach.

My "morning, noon and night sickness" ended the day I delivered both of my boys. I was even puking as they wheeled me into the operating room for my c-sections. My older sister was the same way! Now my other sister is pregnant now and she has had no morning sickness at all. Ughhh.. Anyways, hang in there. I hope you feel better soon.

I started throwing up at 2 weeks. At 7 1/2 months i was hospitalized due to dehydration from the morning sickness, which by the way isn't just morning. They gave me a shot of anti-nausea drugs by IV, not sure what it was called I was pretty out of it at the time but it started with a Z. I only threw up about 4 times after that!!! If it gets bad maybe ask for that it worked for me!

For me, it was when I STOPPED taking the prenatal vitamins. I can't be 100% sure, but I suspected they had a hand in it. Stopped heaving the day I stopped taking them - about 3 months in. My doctor said it was OK because I just couldn't get much food down with the nausea.

One post mentioned prenates - finding the right prenate has a lot to do with the nausea. and with my second I learned to eat every two hours. I would get a Subway sub, cut it into 1 or 2 inch slices and have one with fruit every 2 hours. That helped dramatically.
with my first I threw up once - while driving 85 down the expressway - all over my windshield. But never got nauseated.
With my second I was nauseated all day for six months. The day I switched to OTC CVS el cheap prenates it lessened dramatically. Literally couldn't get near the kitchen without vomiting.
With my third it was four months, but it was lesser nausea. I was on Prenate DHA vitamins - but the expensive not the generic. The generic made me more nauseated.
Every pregnancy is different, even person to person, regardless of the gender of your baby. I've had girlfriends so sick they've had to be on $400/mo cancer meds and could only keep down McD's fries and sweet tea. And some never get sick EVER and run marathons until they birth at 42 weeks.
Hope it's a swiftly passing condition for you!

Whether I didn't get it -or the pink pickled ginger (japanese style) cravings took care of it completely- I don't know.
LOVED pink pickled ginger while pregnant for the first 6mo or so. First thing I ate in the morning and last thing before bed.

Both times I didn't even start with morning sickness until around or after 8 weeks, but had some nausea/vomiting throughout much of my pregnancy, at least till 20 weeks, and perhaps longer. I had certain scent "triggers" all throughout pregnancy that made me feel sick (and throw up early in pregnancy, though I didn't throw up much or at all in later pregnancy) -- bread, lettuce or other leafy greens that had gone bad, Classico spaghetti sauce, and a few other foods that I just couldn't eat and preferred not to smell. [I could *eat* bread, but would have to hold my breath when I opened the fridge where we kept the loaf of bread, when I opened the bag to make a sandwich, or walking down the bread aisle of the grocery store. Almost 5 years after the birth of my younger son, I *still* don't like going down the bread aisle.]
But, everyone is different. Everyone has different triggers and sensitivities; some people are more sensitive to the hormones of pregnancy, or to ingredients in vitamins, etc.

Congrats! Each pregnancy is different. I have 4 children and each were definitely different.
Baby #1- lasted 3 months--it would hit hard in the morning and towards the end of the day
Baby #2- all 9 months--this was all day
Baby #3- 4 in half months- morning and late evening
Baby #4- 4 months-morning and late evening
I know it sure slows you down when you have morning sickness. Good luck.

I hate to not be giving you the news you want to hear, but you did ask. When did my "morning" sickness end? When they were born. Seriously. Both my kids... once the 24 hr "morning" sickness started (by about week 3 or 4).. it NEVER STOPPED until I was in ACTIVE labor.
It's a big part of why we only have 2 kids. :(

Hi Sarah,
With my first child I was sick 24/7 from conception to delivery....my second the nausea ending exactly at the end of my first trimester. I have learned that the better your nutrition absorbs during pregnancy the less sick you feel. Investigate your prenatal. Some docs just give what the pharmaceutical rep recommends.
Hang in there. Congratulations on your little blessing!

I was sick pretty much throughout! Really intense and all day sickness, barely able to keep anything down the first 3-4 months, lost weight and had to be put on Zofran. The middle months improved, gained a little weight, found an appetite, last trimester was just uncomfortable and the barfing returned.
They say you take after your mother-which was very true in my case, both of us sick throughout. Hope you start feeling better soon, I think most people do around 13-15 weeks!

I was sick all day with evenings being the absolute worst. It started at 5 weeks and ended around 17 weeks. Everyone kept telling me that I would just wake up and it would be gone one day-- baloney! It tapered off gradually. I would have less and less nausea until eventually it was gone. I chewed gum and sucked on hard candy and it seemed to help. I hope yours ends soon. It is so miserable. At least there is a happy prize at the end, and as much as I complained and cried, I would do it again!

I've had hyperemesis gravidarum with both of my pregnancies. With my first pregnancy I lost 20 lbs, with my second and current pregnancy, I lost close to 28 lbs. I still have not made up the weight deficit. My morning sickness lasted until week 38 with my first born, although my vomiting was limited to the mornings only by that point instead of all day long like it had been in the first and second trimester.
I am currently 24 weeks pregnant, and I'm still dealing with morning sickness. Luckily, it's waned significantly, but I'm definitely still getting sick on a regular basis. Point being, morning sickness can last the entire pregnancy (for some women like myself). Granted, for most women it "typically" eases up by weeks 12-14, but I wouldn't count on it. Every single woman is different. Morning sickness will affect each person differently, and it even changes from pregnancy to pregnancy for the same person. If it gets bad enough (in my case for instance) you may need to be hospitalized or require anti-nausea drugs such as Zofran.
