How to Prevent Sharpie from Rubbing onto Clothes

I wrote my daughter's name on the inside fabric of her new snow boots with Sharpie. I noticed today that her tights had blue smudges on her ankles, corresponding to where I labeled the boots. Does anyone know if there is something I can treat it with so it won't rub off onto her socks or pants? Thanks!

Not sure what others responed but maybe clear nail polish. My suggestion for future labeling would be to label the bottom by the heal (where it's not in constant contact w/the ground). You can use a silver sharpie. You may still need to relabel from time to time, but it beats ruining clothes. Good luck.

Hi S.,
If you have the time, try some clear nail polish over the sharpie writing.

Good luck...no idea.

However, Sharpie does make a laundry marker..Sharpie "Rub-a-Dub" Laundry marker. It won't rub off.

Amy beat me to it - clear nail polish!

You'll probably have to repeat it now and then but it should work.
