Hi Everyone,
My husband is turning 30 next month and I wanted to get him something really special. We have a 4 month old so going away for the night/weekend is not an option. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I hope this doesn't offend you, but I think you may be able to really surprise him with some boudoir pictures. Especially after having a baby, I think he'd love it. (I did some for my hubs as well.) If you are concerned with covering up, you can do some cute ones in a button down and tie. My friend did some for her husband after their second daughter was born and since he's a chef, she wore his chef's coat. Get creative. It was really fun and my husband LOVES them. :) Good luck!! Let me know if you want any more suggestions or the name of the lady that did mine. (a woman, and we did it are her in-home studio)

Maybe tickets to something at Bass Hall or American Airlines, I got mine tickets to the Trans Siberian Orchestra for our anniversary (going on now, we are going on the 30th). You can always hit a special restaurant before.

What does your husband enjoy? With a new baby, he might enjoy doing some "guy" stuff. Make a tee time for he and a friend, schedule a bowling outing or any other activity that me may enjoy.

Speaking of "guy stuff", are you "back in the sack" after giving birth 4 months ago? Speaking for all guys, I could hardly wait until after the pregnancy and birth to be intimate again, but it had to be on my wife's terms of course.

30 coupons for various things: A nap, guy time, his fave meal, time alone at home, you handling a chore he hates... And a few spicy ones. The key is that you must let him redeem them when he wants to. Your gift is time!

I LOVE LOVE the pictures suggestion...

But without knowing what he likes and dislikes...its kinda hard. If he likes Golf...then a round is nice. If he is a beer drinker, a tour of a brewery with some tasting is nice. (meant in absolutely NO disrespect) If he enjoys movies, dinner and a movie. If he likes hanging out...invite some of his friends over and entertain after baby goes to sleep in the garage, etc. If you are on a budget, send him away, make his favorite meal, slip on that shirt you were going to wear for the pictures and wear that to dinner. Too soon after the baby? Then maybe you can send him and a friend off to the movies and dinner or you can have something delivered he likes and ya'll have a quiet dinner at home.

If you're looking for HUGE celebration...there is NOTHING wrong with planning a party for him at your house or someone elses and bringing the wee one along.

My kids went everywhere with me...and if you're scared that you can't go 8 hours without your wee one, then take them with you...its not the same as "alone" time...but it will be some place new...to play in...so to speak :)

Good luck to you. Early Happy Bday to the hubs.

Congrats on the wee one.

L.,

For father's day, I made my husband a PhotoStory of our daughter. It's a program I believe Microsoft has, and you can download pics of your son and husband and yourself and set them to music. It was such a simple gift, but my husband still watches it and says it's the best gift he ever received. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hope you have a great day!
K.

I think a good 'ol mouth hug will be a great B-day gift for the hubby. Have fun, and enjoy being your husbands most memorable birthday present..
