A baby in a womb with its mouth and face covered with a bandana
Hello again.....Apparently I need you ladies this week alot:)
Something for you to think about for me and let me know your idea's.....
I have a new art project line called......Art of the Rə٨̲̅٥̲̅٦̲̅ution.....Inspired by Time magazine's ''Person of the Year...The Protester''...As many of you know I am also extremely active in the Occupy Wall Street movement...
Anyways that being said I am in the process of putting together a book that will be published....They are snap shot drawings of People, Things, Places or idea's that are being bullied.....Like.....I did a bumble bee(because they are dying off in numbers, which has been linked back to the use of certain pesticides)...BUT I placed a bandanna over the mouth and face of the bumble.....To show that it is fighting for their existence.
I also took some photo's taken of women who were involved in the first woman's lib push.....and did them up to resemble the image of current day female protesters.........By covering their faces and mouths with the bandanna....
My current project is I am drawing a mega phone and covering a portion in the bandanna.....and I am thinking of doodling a Postal truck as well....
What else....What could I doodle to represent another struggling voice?......As minimal or large an injustice as you can think up....With no limit in religious under tone or Political ties....
I have been doodling them out as the idea's have hit me....but it seems I am slow to come up with stuff anymore.....I can link my FB to my line so that you can better understand my mind frame........See the ''So what happened''.....
I am up for any idea's......I will let you see what I come up with if I use them:)...........

A baby in a womb with its mouth and face covered with a bandana
I'm envisioning something with a school building... it could have arms and legs, looking dejected and down in the mouth, sagging under the weight of so many children in poverty, without options, and "NO Child Left Behind" on the top of it all, with big hands smashing the children downward, putting pressure on the school....
Oh, now I'm P.O.ed...
I love your project! I guess my thought is to take it international: Egypt, Syria, etc. You might also put in an image representing the whole dangerously overheated planet.
In solidarity,
Mira
P.S. I also really like Hazel's suggestion. And if you're focusing on bullying, I would recommend working some pink triangle imagery in there.
I know you didn't ask this but I think instead of a bandana, you might want to try an oval, similar to when someone swears on American Idol. Or is the bandana being used as a gag?
I thought of:
...soldiers returning from war zones with injuries that aren't visible like traumatic brain injuries, PTSD, or internal injuries who aren't getting the help they need. They sometimes commit suicide or turn to drugs and alcohol or become homeless.
...people suffering from invisible illnesses or rare diseases. Often they are told they're making up excuses or are lazy or lying.
...fathers of babies whose mothers plan on getting an abortion without the father's knowledge or consent or agreement
...all the missing children who don't get the press coverage for whatever reason
...hungry children in our own country
School students. Schools are still constantly fighting for funding and largely being pushed aside (particularly highly capable).
