I Need Invitation Inspiration

My daughter's 11th birthday is coming up and I need some inspiration regarding the invitations. She is having a "paint your own pottery" party and the ideas I have so far are this-
Invitation shaped like a paint can with a brush.
Hand paint ceramic tiles with the party information on them. (I am not really the painting type- I am more of a scrapbooker).

Do any of you have any creative ideas?

A.

Hey A.,
I took my 12 year old to the Bisque House on the square---it was sooooooooo much fun! I also took my 18 year old for her birthday and she made a glass ring---she is a very talented artist and she loved it. . .Hope you have a great time. . .

What about scroll paper wrapped around a paint brush and tell them to make sure to bring their brush!

Wording!

I am so excited about my day,
Please RSVP and don't delay,
I have been running around in a rush
But don't forget to bring your brush!

All that came to mind.. Hope this helps...

Great ideas! Use your talent for scrapbooking on the invites. Do the invite as a scrapbook page with a picture of the bday girl of course and the paint and pottery theme. Put a small *note on the bottom telling them keep these for after the party. Take plenty of snap shots during the girls party and have a few more scrapbook pages ready and waiting for your party pics. Be sure to have your daughter help you with the pages and have her do a personal 'thank you' page. Add the final pictures of the party into small 'party favor - thank you' scrapbooks. All the girls will love going home with a book about the party and themselves. Bonus....you will look like super mom and you won't have to worry about mailing out thank you cards afterwards. Sounds like a great party!

those sound good to me.
maybe a pic of your daughter with brush in hand pants in front of her and pottery as if choosing pottery. Show other pottery and empty chairs, invite on back. or if you have kodak camera and system use the post card/invitation program.
mention to wear play clothes that can get dirty, or bring a smock if you're not providing them, etc...

My kids and I have painted pottery before, it is an awesome experience!!! I love your idea of the painted tiles but I think you can create the same idea without the painting. Find some already colored tiles and use a paint pen to write the information on them. I think they would be awesome! Another idea would be to create something similar to a handpainted tile on the computer and print them. Good luck, I think the party will be wonderful!!!

What about using your scrap booker skills and make a card that is shaped like a paint can, have a front piece and a back piece so you can cut a horizontal curved slit across the top part(to represent the cans opening) then put a colored card (that represents the paint in the can)that pulls out and has all the party info listed on it... you could even have a picture of a paint brush on that card (or use stickers from Michaels). The front of the paint can can say something too like: Paint Party! Pottery Party Paint! Say that 5 times fast! Whatever you do.. have fun and enjoy it! K. G

I think it would be cute to take a photo of your daughter at paint studio in her apron and surrounded by the paint stuff... My company can take that photo and print the party information on it or create something cute you will love. then we can take the photo make a hand crafted card that is "framed" and has some cute painting things on it!

My other idea is we can take the photo and print the information on it and then print it on an iron on transfer and iron it onto an apron and instruct them to bring the aprons to the party! it would also be a cute keep sake for the guests...

I have plenty of other ideas that we can work with as well... give us a shout if you need us to make the invitations for you or help you with any other party or gift needs.

If you are a scrapbooker make a cute tag with all of the info about the party and then attach it to a paint brush. You can buy a bag at wal-mart or hobby lobby pretty cheaply.

What about a small a canvas bag you can buy from michaels. You can attach the information on it. They can bring the bag with them, so they can decorate it.

I did this with my little girl when she was 10 or 11(now 14). They all loved it. Till this day her friends still use the bag for overnight sleepovers. The bag was a bit bigger.Hope this helps.

I'd call the pottery place and see if they have any simple ideas. Check the card store too. They may actually have something for that type of party.

Good luck and have fun.

How about watercolor sets with the invitation inside the lid. You could us your scrapbooking skills to make something that would glue inside the lid and/or on top of the container.
