I Need Potty Training Underpants!

I'm potty training my child and I really want her to have a few pairs of the potty training underwear. She's using pull ups right now, but I don't think she sees a difference between those and diapers. She has regular panties but, when we have accidents in those, it's harder to clean up. The problem is I can't find potty training underwear anywhere. I've looked @ Target and WalMart, but they don't have them. I'd rather not go to some Baby Specialty store and pay out the ying yang for them, but I'm getting desperate. On Walmart's website you can order some but I'd rather just go to a store and pick some up. Plus, I'm looking for the ones that are actually like underwear just a little thicker. I don't want the ones that have the plastic outside and are really tight on their legs. The ones you order @ WalMart are the latter of those two. If anyone knows where I can find some, I'd really love it. I live in Las Colinas so if it's somewhere close, that'd be great, but I don't mind driving if I have to.

Secondly, how do I get her to understand the difference between panties and diapers? As far as potty training is concerned, I think we got the easier end of the spectrum. We introduced the potty around 3 months ago, and I think we're doing great. If she's not wearing any bottoms, she goes to the potty by herself. She does number 1 and 2 with no issues. Then she comes and gets me and points @ the potty, as if to say "Look what I did! Give me my sticker now! :0) (Moms who aren't making as much progress, don't be mad. As a baby, she drove me crazy! She screamed if anyone who wasn't her Mommy even looked like they wanted to pick her up! And everyone would say, "Well at least you know she has good lungs!" as if this is supposed to comfort me in the middle of Red Lobster!" That lasted from 3 months to 18 months. Believe me, I deserve something easy!) Anyway, she's really doing good but, when she has a pullup on, she dosnt even bother to try the potty. I'm hoping the underpants will help. But, I need to get her to associate the panties, with going to the potty. Any ideas? That'd be great! Thanks Moms!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the advice. My Dad got her a gift card to Toys R Us and it occurred to me that Babies R Us probably has what I'm looking for. I went I bought. The only problem is that she's going to be 24mnths in a couple weeks, and the 24mth panties I bought her are WAY too big. I went back today to get the smaller size, only i went to the one that is closer to my house. They didn't have 18mth sizes @ that one. SO, I'm gonna have to drive to Lewisville again to get the right size. (Although the 24mth should fit!) Anyway, thanks Moms for your help.

You can buy training underwear online. That was the only place I found them. I got the padded underwear and the plastic ones with elastic around the legs. I didn't use the plastic covers as much as I did the padded underwear.

Just have patience. She will learn at her own pace at her own time (which can be harder for moms than the child)

Good luck-

Hi R.,

I bought training panties for my daughter at Hanna Andersson in North Park Mall. They are $26 for three pair. They are much thicker than normal panties and hold urine fairly well.

Good luck!

We are getting ready to start potty training our 23 month old son. I believe that Babies r us carries the type of training pants you are looking for. I am not sure where the closest location to you is, but you could check their website. Hope that helps and good luck!

I second the Hanna Andersson training pants. My son is in them right now! And trust me they hold accidents!
The Hanna Andersson underwear is great too if your daughter hates the 'elastic' feel. My older daughters (6 and 9) only wear Hanna underwear and refuse anything else!
Edited to add: the training pants are currently on sale at Northpark for $14
