i am a mother to three kids and step mom to 2 boys.i stayed at home the first year of my daughters life.i now work a full time job and there is no guilt.if you work even part time its good for you and the baby.since the baby is so young then there most likely wont be any separation anxiety later.there is nothing wrong with going back to work.take the job you were offered and good luck. :)

Before you choose, consider:
Money- can you afford to work? Factor in child care expenses, travel, meals out, etc. Can you afford to stay home?
Yourself: Will it make you feel worse to work or stay home? When my son was born, I had to go back to work part time at 6 weeks for my own sanity. Now that I have my daughter, I would prefer to stay home (although money prevents me from doing that).
There is no right answer- yes, your baby needs you. But she needs you to be healthy and happy. If work will give you the break you need to refresh your ability to care for your children, then by all means do it. If it will make you resentful of leaving your kids at home, then stay home. Do what makes the most sense for you, your family, and your children. Good luck!

You need to sit and figure if going back to work is something you need to do or want to do right now. 7 weeks PP is still early but alot of women go back to work 8 weeks later. When I went PT I found it to be a relaxing time away for mommy. A thing where I had adult conversation that wasnt baby centered and reminded me I was an adult. You need to think about childcare as well. Will daddy be able to watch or grammie or would you need a sitter? No matter which you choose, I wish you the best of luck and congrads on your new baby!

I work full-time and went back when my daughter was 3.5 months old. It was tough but the daycare is awesome and she has done so amazingly well. I found I liked being at work and having adult time, and getting things done felt satisfying, but when I leave, I leave work at work and focus on her when I'm home. I have to work - we need the income, as we are both teachers! I feel a bit better that I am providing for my family's future, not just living for the now. If you have to work, you have to, and that's all there is to it! Kids with working moms turn out just as great as kids with moms who don't work outside the home. Good luck - you can do it!

I think it is too soon to go back, but if you are the bread winner in your household and have a good reliable babysitter or childcare then go for it.

I went back to work when my son was 9 weeks old. Mostly because I had to. I am over half our family's income. I didn't like it, but it certainly wasn't "wrong". I know people who have goneback to work as little as 6 weeks either cause they had to or wanted to. Do what's right for you. If you are okay with it...then why not got back to work.
