My daughter is in a wedding in September, and her gorgeous satin gown requires several inches of hemming. I'm looking for a talented, exemplary seamstress who could do the work, as well as future work on my own clothing, which always needs alterations.

I dont know where you live, but a lady that I have used for over 10 years in on Milwaukee Ave in Niles (just barely north of the city). Her shop has plenty of parking also. It is called Venus Tailor Shop and she is amazing! Tell her K. Bardwell Travis recommended you and she will get you right in!

I live on the Southwest side of Naperville. I used to do seamstress /tailor work for a living, now I do it because I love it. I have done several people's dresses who needed a tailor from this site. If I am convienient to your location, I would be more than happy to do the work.

I have made my own window treatments, and have actually made wedding gowns from scratch, however, not interested in doing that anymore. Occaisional alterations feeds my "love of sewing" addiction. Where are you located.
She would need to come to my home to be fitted etc.

I don't know where you're located, but I highly recommend Jackie at Ralph's Tailor (Touhy & California in West Rogers Park). She did some work on my sisters' dresses for my wedding, and was going to re-make my grandmother's dress for me. She also did a bunch of work on a bridesmaid's dress for me.

Best,
R.

I use a lady named Krystyna Hazlett out of Lisle. She is an alteration specialist at the Men's Department at the Oak Brook Nordstrom, but she runs a side business through her home. She has done excellent work for me and my friends. Her home business has its own entrance, and she is very organized. She takes appointments only, and the best part is it is easy to drag your kids along with you if necessary.

I highly recommend Linda Hill in Oak Park. She tailored my bridesmaid dress 8 months after I had twins and boy did she have her work cut out for her! She is very generous with her suggestions and time, and reasonable with her pricing.

If you're in the city on the north side, Monitor is good. It's at Clark and Wilson.
