I'd buy the stroller frame for the car seat and use an umbrella stroller later. Easy, lightweight and not too expensive.
With my first daughter I had a travel system. It seemed awfully bulky and it didn't seem to get around very well unless we were in a wide open space. For this baby I have been looking at the stroller frames that you just set the car seat down in. They look like they will be more lightweight. I understand the travel system is useful because you can use it without the car seat later on, but we have a jogging stroller already and I dont mind using the little umbrella strollers. I was wondering though if I could just get a carseat that is compatible with the jogging stroller that we already have and attach the 2 somehow? Thereby just using the jogging stroller as our primary stroller. Whats everybody's opinion on what is the easiest to use type of stroller?
I don't remember the brand of the jogging stroller we have. If it were not in storage right now I would go find out. I remember we paid about $150 for it so its not a high-end one.

I have never seen a universal part that will attach a car seat to any jogging stroller. I know the Bob stroller has a car seat attachment, but I would imagine it costs even more than a snap-and-go stroller frame. Good luck to you!
I have what seems like every type of stroller out there. I did find the frame only ones to be helpful when my babies were little and there wasnt any chance of them sitting in the actual stroller. Baby trend makes one that is the frame only ( I cant remember the name, I know babies r us has them online & in store ) You can use any brand of Infant carrier in those. And they are super lightweight and easy to use.
I have never heard of anything that will turn a regular stroller into one that can hold a carrier. I loved my stroller frame!!!! I just sold it on Craigslist for 30 bucks in perfect condition as it's not used very long. I would check your CL and use that for the few months your babe is in a carrier. Then you can turn around and sell it on CL as they are highly sought after.
I can't recommend an infant car seat...I just re-used my Graco one from the travel system then tossed it when my youngest grew out of it. However, I do highly recommend the stroller frame (I had the Baby Trend one). I hate to lift my jogging stroller in and out of the car--the stroller frame was perfect for popping in and out of places, and does better in clothing stores and restaraunts than a jogger. I too sold mine on Craigslist after only 6 months of use. You could easily find one in good condition on there. Don't get me started on regular strollers and convertible car seats though! I'm convinced the only way for me to get what I want 100% would be to design my own!! :)
What kind of jogging stroller do you already have?
We only use a jogging stroller and the car seat clips in. We have a bob so I would check your stroller if possible and look online and see if there is a car seat attachment, most are compatible with certain car seats.
I loved loved the bugaboo chameleon. It also has a kick board for the back so your second child can stand on it and ride.
What brand of jogging stroller do you have? I have a baby trend and the carseat fits right in just like the travel systems.
