I just took a shower and while I was in there, marveling over how long my armpit and leg hair had grown, I realized I hadn't showered since SUNDAY! ICK! I grossed myself out more than a bit and now would like to hear I am not the only one...PLEASE tell me I am not the only one!

(Added - and how many kids do you have? I have 3 under the age of 5 )

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Haha, Molly, YES! I was thinking it wasn't THAT nasty because I thought it was Weds, but when I realized it was Thurs I REALLY got grossed out ;-)

I am lucky that my hubby comes from a region of the world where showering is NOT a daily experience ;-) (Although he does bathe daily.) It has just been that kind of week that every time I attempted to do it, something more pressing came up, or a kid woke up, etc...ya know. I hereby pledge to go no more than 2 days, come hell or high water!!

When my daughter was a newborn, I'd say every other day on the showering, as I was exhausted and opted to sleep instead. :-) Now... shaving is another story, I've gone a couple weeks on that, just noooooo time, I have to prioritize, breakfast or shaved legs, I opt for food! haha

I shower EVERY DAY...when my kids were babies...i would put them in a bouncey seat/chair and bring them in the bathroom with me...or I would wait until they were sleeping...

I don't shave my legs or arms daily - even in the summer...I let it go every two or three days - I know, some will say EEEEEWWWWW but that's what works for me.

OH WOW.... I get my shower everyday no matter what. The longest i've gone is from one morning to the next days night.
My leg and armpit grow grow so fast that i have to shave everyday. I'd be able to braid it if i went that long. lol
I have a 2 month old, 2 yr old, and 7 yr old. My 7 yr old helps a lot.

2 days is my max, after that I feel incredibly greasy and overall icky.
I really try to have a shower everyday, or at least every other, but if I don't get a chance then I always make sure to wash my face and if necessary wipe down with a washcloth.

I can take a pretty quick shower, but if my husband is home, I take my time. I close the door, turn on the fan, and relish my time standing under the water. It's nice not to be pulled and tugged at for at least 15 or 20 minutes :)

I have 3 kids... showering is easier now. When my 3rd was born, he was a terrible infant. My husband looked at me one day when the baby was still new, and asks me if I wanted to take a shower. I just looked at him. He gently says 'honey, you've been in the same clothes for about 8 days, with the same breastmilk spots on your shirt, puke in your hair, and sh!t on your pants.'.... GROSS, HE WAS RIGHT!!... I sat in the tub, scraped a weeks worth of funk off me, then showered. Ew. New babies, eh?

The longest was about 4 days - I realized it just as you did. I was mortified I had gone that long. I survived though and no one complained I stunk... :)

I'm going to cheat on your Q a bit:

The longest in my adult life was 3 and a half weeks... (when we came back in from the field we collectively took off our underwear, socks, -and bras for the girls- and burned them). I remember being grateful for the freezing rain that happened 2 or 3 times while we were out because it washed off some of the stink of us. Seriously. I also distinctly remember a guard on base stepping back -from the smell, I would assume, we were pretty immune to it by then- and asking us how long it had been since we showered. I stopped for and thought for a minute as we trudged in said "I think it rained on us sometime last week."

Yeah.

Which goes to explain why after my son was born some years later... I didn't miss a single day. If kiddo had to be in his carseat on the bathroom floor... I was scrubbing myself clean on a regular basis. I not only didn't miss a day, but often showered 2 and 3 times a day.

I have four kids and one day is the longest I can or want to go without showering. Even when I had my children I showered within 24 hours. Being gross makes me tired and I don't have time to slow down.

I take a shower or a bath every night before bed. It helps me sleep better! There have been a few times when I miss a night, but at the most every other day.

you are not the only one. and thanks for this post!! i have a 2 year old and 7 month old twins. hubby works 2nd shift and 3 overnights at a second job, so i am pretty busy with the kids and house most of the time. i think my longest was 5 or 6 days??? pretty gross i know, but some days it is just so hectic with kids that by the time i get them all in bed and get some housework done, i practically pass out from exhaustion.

Aww, I remember the good ol' days. If someone was sick it usually made showers few and far between. I'd say I probably did 3 or 4 once in awhile. Being a mom doesnt mean you hafta be a martyr tho. Making sure you get your bath every night is a good habit to get into. You feel better and I'm sure hubby and kids think you'll smell better as well =)

Oh back when I had my second child and had a barely 2 year old I was so sleep deprived that I couldn't get myself to get out of bed early to shower. And I didn't dare leave my 2 year old alone with my baby. I know that I've done like you many times. It happens.

2 and a half days! But that is very rare when I go that long, usually only if I'm very sick or camping or something... but even then I would at least wipe down with a washcloth or something and wash my face. I'm one of those that has to shower daily or I feel all gross.

i think 3 days?....Its harder for me to go a long time i have very thin hair and it gets greasy FAST

I honestly cant remember ever skipping that second day, but im sure i have. A shower every other day is common for me if i have stayed indoors though.

I have gone 4 days without washing my hair - probably longer.

But I would daily rinse of my "parts" - I have to or else I just cannot STAND it! Luckily, we have a portable shower head =)
