Franks Sinatra's "Fly me to the Moon." I wouldn't change it - great memories. In fact, we were in Vegas about 6 months after we got married. We were at the Bellagio for the first time and were waiting for the fountains to start - and what song did they play? Fly me to the Moon - very romantic and a great memory.

Our first dance was to "Up and Away" by Dave Matthews. The worst song I've ever heard played at a wedding was "Strokin' " by Clarence Carter played as a Mother/Son dance. I still laugh at that one.

"Speak Softly Love" known better as the love song from the Godfather. It was an Italian wedding, my husband is not Italian, so it was a bit of an inside joke - becoming part of the family. I would choose it again - good memories.

I love our wedding song. It is an original composition by my husband. I was one of the many surprises I received on our wedding day. We still listen to it and dance around the livingroom and kiss. Grosses the kids out but heck we are still newly weds and entitled. I wouldn't change a thing.

We actually eloped and got married on a beach with no way to have music. I always wanted to dance to "I Could Never Promise You" by Don Francisco. I still plan to dance to it on our first anniversary!
Incidentally, before we decided to elope we joked about playing that part of Paradise by the Dashboard Light where they sing "...so now I'm prayin for the end of time..." as we walked out after the ceremony ;)

"I Cross My Heart" by George Strait. I wouldn't choose it again only because my husband hates country music, but since I wanted this song since I was a little girl and heard it, he thought it should be our wedding song. If we had to do all over again, since I had my moment, I would let him pick the song so that he could have his. I know it's played at a lot of weddings, but my friends had a singer sing "At Last" and she was amazing. My friend's getting married next month and I'm curious to see what their wedding song will be since they are having a reggae band.

Ours was "Endless Love" by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. That was 26 years ago. I don't know if we would choose that song today though. I still like the song, but since then there have been a lot of great songs for weddings. I can't remember hearing a bad song at a wedding. Great post!

Recessional was "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles played by a string quartet. Walk into reception was "Chapel of Love" Bette Midler version. First dance was Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love." I wouldn't change any of them if I had it to do over again! Thanks for bringing up some wonderful memories!!

We came into the reception to the prelude to U2's "where the streets have no name" - thought by many to be the best prelude to a rock song ever. Not the words, just the prelude on repeat. Then our first dance was "heroes" - the Wallflowers version from the Godzilla soundtrack.
What a lot of diversity in the responses!! Fun question.

"Perfect Moment" by Edyta Gorniak. The song embodies our relationship and was the perfect song to dance together to for the first time as husband and wife.
Cons of this song, is that its not a famous song here in the states, so it never accidentaly pops up playing on the radio to rekindle those magical moments... but we have it on our iPod and when it comes up, the remniscence is still there:-)
Fun topic. Thanks!!

Ours was 'Happy Together' by The Turtles. Still fits today! "I can't see me loving nobody but you for all my life. When you're with me baby the skies'll be blue, for all my life!"
The worst one I ever heard was 'November Rain' by Guns N Roses...which coincidentally was mine and my first husband's..."'Cause nothin' lasts forever and we both know hearts can change. And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain." Yeah...I was 17. lol

"Making Memories of Us" by Keith Urban was the wedding song. We walked into the reception with "Let's Get Retarded" Black Eyed Peas and our last dance was "I cross my heart" George Straight. If I could do it over - I would have switched the wedding song with the last dance but other than that - it was great choices.

If the two of you don't have a "song," then have two. Dance half of dance to 1/2 of one song, and dance the other half to the other 1/2 song. We did this. This shows that you both care about each other's emotions.

This is great! We got married at a lake in Alaska- no music! Just the birds! But my Aunt had been engaged several times and had always broken it off. She finally made it down the isle when she was 45 and her song she walked down the isle to was "At last" What a great song!

Our song was supposed to be "I can love you like that" by John Michael Montgomery, but they didn't have it. My husband ended up choosing "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole. I'm so glad he did because I still love that song, but the other one is no longer a favorite of mine.

We danced to "All We'll Ever Find" by Tim McGraw. I danced with my dad to "I Loved Her First"- not a dry eye in the crowd!
One of my best friends danced to some completely random blue grass instrumental- they loved it, but the rest of us were just looking at eachother and it went on for 10 minutes!

Our wedding song is/was "Better Together" by Jack Johnson. We were married on a catamaran sailing to St. John. Therefore, we ordered and gave the sheet music to the acoustic guitarist who was on the boat with us to practice prior to the ceremony. We also made photocopies and gave such to our 22 guests to sing along. It was an amazing moment - wouldn't change it if I could! There are so many versions of the song - love them all (even hearing Jack singing it himself at the numerous concerts we've been to).

Our wedding song was Juliette Lewis' version of "Come Rain or Come Shine," from "The Other Sister" soundtrack. I loved it then, and I love it now-I would absolutely choose it again!:) I don't think I've heard a bad wedding song, to be honest-at least not one actually played at a wedding;)- so I can't help you there. Fun question!!

Mine was Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. Would I still choose that song today.......No, mainly because we got divorced. =) I still love that song though.
The worst song I have ever heard at someone's wedding, this is easy. The song Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Just didn't fit, guess they were huge fans.
