Duct tape! Just keep a scissors at the changing table. Worked for us, my son stopped trying after a week or so of not being able to get the diaper off.
Good luck!
Diapers were never a problem for me up until now with my twin girls. My girls are proving to me that maybe diapers aren't as well made as I thought they were. Here's my problem. My 18 mth. old daughter, the older of the two girls loves to take her diaper off. She loves to run around without anything. That's if she doesn't have any outer pants on. So I thought the problem was easily solved as I would just put pants on her. Not so much anymore...she's now figured out how to take off the outer pants and then her diaper. I am constantly chasing her down and putting her diaper and pants back on. And I have tried to safety pin them...because I thought maybe the reason for all of this was that she loves to play with the diaper tabs. She's even figured out how to get out of them with the pins...So I am lost as to know how to keep her diaper/pants on. Her sister...doesn't do it at all. So I don't think she's learning it from her...teaching it to her perhaps...LOL Has anyone had similar difficulties? What have you tried...and what has worked for you?

My son is 22 months and does the exact same thing. Does she take her diaper off after she has peed? I was told that that may be a sign to start introducing them to the potty. My son learned to take his diaper off while keeping his pants on, so we introduced him to the potty and he has even peed while sitting on it.
My youngest son went through a naked phase. I would get him dressed, turn around, and he was naked. Drove me crazy trying to keep clothes on him. Finally I just gave up. As long as he didn't pee all over the place then fine, stay that way lol It seemed when I didn't make a big deal then it didn't happen all the time, just needed his "freedom" sometimes. The only problem was that it seriously embarassed my older two sons when they had friends over and a naked lil boy would wonder in and say hello lol He eventually just grew out of the need to be naked. He's 7 now and still isn't real modest but does keep his clothes on lol
hahaha i just went through this with one of my twins. after i would put them in their bedroom at bedtime, one of them would get out of bed run around, taking off jammies, even onesies and diapers. she did it every night, a few times a night. so i was up and down stairs every night. one night i ducktaped her diaper. must have done a terrible job because minutes later she was naked again. i know mine are ready for potty training but i am waiting for warmer weather to start letting them run around in panties. too cold now.
so back on track, one night i let her naked and did not respond to her 'happy naked' laughs. i did not go in for good 5 minutes, until i heard her over the monitor say
i am cold.
then i went in. sat down and told her if she takes her diaper off she'll be cold, then she'll get sick and then we will have to go to doctor. i don't know how much of my preaching she understood, but she did not like being cold. so she never took the diaper off again.
try it. might work for you
good luck

I have 18 month identical twin daughters, also. And I have the same problem. But, only the older one likes to take her pants and diaper off. I have found that if i am out, she is fine, has no desire to play with her diaper. At home, my only found solution: zippered pajamas. At first I put any pajamas on, but like you she learned to take her pants off, then I tries button pajamas, but she learned how to unsnap them. Zippers are the only thing that works in our house, and with 4 kids, I'll take whatever I can find! I hope this helps!! Have agreat day!
Another Mommy just asked this very same question a little bit ago. Here's the link....

when my daughter was lie 10-11 months she would tae her clothes off she hated them. this went on for months n months
even when we would go out she would take her clothes off she didnt care. so when we was at home i put a long t-shirt on here and taught her how to use the potty, she was potty trained when she was like 12-13 months old.it was easy. that is an idea for u . or pin her pants to her shirt. i wish u luck.
If she won't keep her diapers on. I would get the Walmart potty training underwear for during the day. She might be telling you that she's ready for potty training. R. B.
Hi K.!!
Besides having a 19 month old of my own I was a daycare worker for 4 years, what usually worked for me was putting diapers on backwards OR keeping her in a onsie with her pants! Hope it helps!!!
my son did this the summer before he turned 2. i spent an entire afternoon chasing him around the dining room table, trying to get his diaper back on. once i finally got it on him, we went right to the store and bought training pants. Pampers makes the easy ups, which are more transitional diapers than they are training pants, and that stopped him from taking everything off. i would give that a try and see if it works for you. good luck!
If she is not ready for potty training- my neice Elizabeth did this at the same age- My brother in law, wrapped duct tape around the diaper ( she kept taking it off esp. during naps or at night and it got exhausting cleaning up messes) the duct tape did not touch her skin, but closed the tabs so she could not get the diaper off. Sounds extreme but it cut down on a lot of mess.
The thing I've heard for when this becomes a major problem is to buy the zip up footed sleepers. You cut the feet off and put them on the child backward so that the zipper goes up their back. They can't reach the zipper to undo it and so they are stuck and the diaper underneath is protected. I've even heard about people using this during the daytime for little ones that refuse to keep diapers on during the day as well as when in bed. They were frustrated over having to dress their child in this unusual way - especially when leaving the house, but it solved the diaper problem and thankfully was a passing phase.
I have the same problem with my 23 month old. The best solution I found is: Overalls! He can't get them off for anything providing the shoulder straps are snug. I actually went out and bought 5 pair and keep one on him all the time, at night I always have 1 piece pajamas with a onesize undershirt. (at first a onesize undershirt was sufficient for during the day, but he figured that out, although he does leave in alone at night). I used the overalls for my first son too. It is a bit traumatic for the first 10 minutes when they realize that they can't get the overalls off, but after that, it was smooth sailing. Good luck, D.
Do you think maybe she's ready for "big girl panties?" Maybe she's maturing quicker than her sister. Does she like all the attention that you give her when she runs around with no pants/diapers? Maybe she's ready for the potty. Just a few thoughts i had while reading your request. Good luck!
sounds mean, but we did the duct tape thing too. everyone thought we were crazy but it worked. also, the onsie thing and putting diapers on backward went over well too. good luck.
Hmmmm. That's a hard one. Have you tried putting a onesie on over her diaper? That's all I can think of! Sorry. Good luck. Hopefully some of the other Moms can give you some great ideas to try.
My son does the exact same thing and he's now 21 months. We've had this issue since he was about 18 months. We always put him in jammies that zip up and have a piece of material that snaps over the zipper (gymboree has the lighter material ones that zip) or clothes that snap at the crotch such as a one piece romper or snapping shirt with pants over it. He's pretty coordinated and hasn't figured out how to get that stuff off yet.
My friends so did this, she just put the diapers on back to front and that worked great

ok yep i had this problem with my son we had to put a strip of duct tape across the tabs so he couldnt take his off. then all you gotta do is rip the duct tape to get them off.
