I would try your local park district. They usually always have Sat sports.
Dos anybody know of any sports groups/activities that actaually have classes on weekends? I have a 5 year old son who I would love to have particiapte in some kind of sports but I am a working mom and can't make 5:00 practices. I need anything during the week after 6:30 but would really prefer weekend programs as we are up very early for work/school. Thanks!

I have the same problem with scheduling. My son (he's 4) was recently in gymnastics. It was not through the park district, it was a private gymnastics school. He has class one night a week from 6:15-7:00. He is also on a bowling league through Brusnwick Zone. He bowls on Saturday mornings. The season is just about to end, but they have leagues going on all the time. It might not be the most "athletic" sport, but he has a great time.
The YMCA often has sports programs on the weekends. My son is in soccer and it is 8 saturdays...
Hi J.,
My kids take swim lessons through Swim America on Sunday afternoons. They swim at the Oak Forest High School. I think we are three weeks into this session, but they schedule 10 weeks of lessons and you attend 8 of them, to allow some flexibility for other weekend plans. I bet they would prorate the remaining weeks for you, and if you were able to start this Sunday and could make all the rest of the scheduled weeks you would only miss one of the eight. Anyway, if you are interested I could send you more information and/or the email address of the coach. Let me know.
