We are expecting our first child in 3 weeks and have yet to pick a pediatrician. Has anyone gone to any of the doctors here at Kids First at Alameda/Wadsworth? Can you recommend them? Thanks!

What can I do next?

We took our daughter last year for her school physical, we had an appointment but we weren't seen until 20 minutes after. There was gum stuck to two toys which I didn't like. But like I said we only went once and it did seem to have a lot of people. It just wasn't for me.

I have a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old. We've gone to Kids First since my oldest was born. I can very highly recommend two of the doctors there: Dr. Stephanie Harris and Dr. Catherine Daley. And the office staff is exceptional.

On the negative side, we really do not care AT ALL for Dr. Bob Johannes and generally refuse to see him unless it's an absolute emergency. And the other negative is that we sometimes have a fairly long wait, both in the waiting room and the patient exam rooms.

But Drs. Harris and Daley make it all worthwhile. They really take their time and have been incredibly helpful many times.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you'd like more information! And congratulations!

I take my two little ones there. I really like them. I will be taking my little baby when he makes his arrival. I would recommend them. We see Dr. Stephanie Harris. She is very nice and really good with the little ones.

Hi there,
I also am a Lakewood mom and I went to Kids First for an pediatrician interview at the recommendation of my nurse practitioner who takes her kids there. I personally liked it but actually liked a pediatrician's office better over on Union, between Alameda and 6th ave. I can't remember what they are called but I can check if you are interested. I liked that they have a sick waiting room and a well waiting room so my well child doesn't get sick. I liked the doctor at Kids First, but didn't really like the waiting room because their wasn't many toys or distractions. Those were my first impressions. Let me know if you are interested in my Pediatrician. I have a 6 month old and so far so good. K.

I have taken my two girls there to but I wasn't really impressed. The rooms and waiting room didn't really seem kid friendly. The only reason I take them there is because they were excepting new medicade patients. If you don't mind driving a little out of your way I would take them to Focus on Kids in Littleton area. All the drs. are awsome! Good luck and congrats! J.

I take my daughter to Union Square Family Practice. We just started going there a few months ago after years of The Buckley Clinic (a total nightmare). At Union Square they are incredibly friendly, easy to make a same day appointment and wonderful with children. My daughter has seen two different people there and they were very loving and made her laugh. They are at 255 Union Blvd. near 2nd and Union. ###-###-####. Good luck! I know it is a big decision. Good luck with you new baby too :)
