What phone service are you using that you are either happy with or dissatisfied with. I am considering changing my service, but am afraid to do so. I have had Embarq/Sprint despite all of their changes and mergers. I am considering the Directv/Century Link, however would like some feedback first.

What can I do next?

We have Verizon. We haven't had any real problems with it. We actually added Fios internet & TV. I don't know if you have that service where you are, but their customer service was helpful also.

We made the switch from Verizon to Vonage to save money...and ended up going back to Verizon. I will never again make that mistake. Verizon offers everything we need/use and are willing to work with you in difficult times as far as payment options go. Their customer support service is great as well as.

I got Magicjack to use as a landline - it works pretty well. You have to have your computer on to use it, and if you turn off the computer, it doesn't work. Not a big hassle though. For the price ($50 for the small piece of hardware and 1 year service), it's awesome. Free long distance. You can set your cell phone info to your home address for 911 and I think you can do that for Magicjack as well. I got mine at radioshack.

If Time Warner is an option near you, I have never been more unhappy with home phone service! Hope you are able to find a good company to go with.

We use packet8... it is voice over ip, really not sure what it means, but it is about $30 a month for long distance, everything.... I actually called them to cancel, just bc I use my cell more, and they lowered my bill to $10 a month, for a being a customer for 6 years! Can't beat that... Good Luck!
