Definitely have an exam right away, even if the doc tells you it's probably nothing. It could be nothing but it could be something. Better to just get looked at.
Im kinda nervous about this liquid that has been coming from me.Its not urine but it seems like a lot to be just anything else Has anyone ever went through this?is it something i should be worried about do you think??
The hard thing is My doctor is so hard to get a hold of I called for a earlier appointment and all I can get is in 2 weeks which is only a week before my original appointment!!! I cant even get a hold of her on the phone.

I would check in with your doctor midwife about this. They have a very simple test they can do to see if your water has broken.
Women who are pregnant will experience increased amounts of vaginal discharge that at times can seem like a lot. It is also not that uncommon to leak urine in pregnancy due to the weight of the baby on the bladder and the affects of the hormones on the urinary system.
Unlike what someone else posted, women do not have a prostate gland, that is a part of the male reproductive system.
The same thing happend to me. It turned out to be urine. The baby was pushing on my bladder for months and it caused me to constantly leak. In the end, I was so used to it that I didn't realize my water broke. I figured I just peed my pants. Anyway, talk to your doctor about it when you go and always take a change of clothes with you.
Take Care,
K.
You should definitely call your OB/midwife and tell them this.
MOST of the time, it's nothing and it's just an increase in fluids...or in some cases a little rip in the bag will repair itself and is nothing to worry about.
However, it's still better to have it checked out.
When is it happening? When you are laying down? When you sneeze or cough? All of that can be important information to tell your doctor.
Good luck and please update.
If you are leaking fluid you need to see your doctor. If it does not smell like urine, then it probably is not...could be amniotic fluid. You'd have to see your doctor to be sure.
You said you can't get into or even ahold of the OBGYN. I say time to get a new one. My Dr's office has emergency on call Dr's for things like this and I can get in usually in hours. Not to mention, not being able to phone them in unbelievable. I would definately get into someone.
Keep calling - this is an emergency. If necessary go to the ER.
I would call your doctor and describe what is happening. They may be able to give you an answer as to the problem right away. It is common to have more "leakage" during pregnancy, but if it is a lot or has an odor/color I would call to be on the safe side.
Is there any color or smell to this fluid at all? I know that sometimes as the baby gets bigger you can get discharge, but if it seems like way to much and keeps coming out, I would call your dr. Is it gushing or just a little at a time?

Hello-
When it comes to pregnancy you can never be TOO safe- go to the doctors. Get yourself checked out ASAP! to make sure. You do not want to brush it off with whatever possible opinions you will get on mamasource that might make you feel comforitable. Just get into the docs. office it could be nothing then again it could be something serious - My OB had no problems seeing me as much as I needed. Hope this helps
God Bless
You should call your gyno right away! This could be amniotic fluid (what is referred to as when a woman "breaks her water." You really should have it checked out because it can be very dangerous for the baby. I'm not trying to scare you, just think you should be on the safe side.
If you are leaking fluid you need to call your OB to see what they want you to do... If it is a lot than I would suggest you go to labor and delivery at which ever hospital you are planning on delivering at to make sure it is not amniotic fluid... Not to scare you, but you need to get it checked out...
Hi there,
Once you mention you think you are leaking fluid the doctor's office should ask you to come in immediately. If they don't, it's time to find a new office because you should at least be able to speak with a nurse from the office on the telephone when you call with questions.
Good Luck!
If you're around 20 weeks pregnant it's probably just cervical fluid (crazy hormones during pregnancy, eh?) But if you're concerned and there seems like a lot (like more than soaks a pair of underwear in a day), have your doc make sure you didn't accidentally rupture your membranes. Congrats on your baby!!
Always check with your doctor. My third child was a big boy. I was told this might happen. For some reason, boys--especially large boys--hve this effect on some mothers. If you walk down the aisle in a store, check out the aisle where protection goods are. Must be more than just you and me having this problem. I even had surgery because my bladder had droppped. No help. He was 9 pounds and 4 ounces and 23 inches long. Hope yours isn,t. Good luck I've found you can do whatever you have to do.
Hi there...I am a labor and delivery nurse and I am a little concerned. you said that a liquid is coming out but it is not urine. Have you called your OB doctor yet? It kinda sounds to me like you water could be broke and you NEED to have it checked out. Please call you doctor ASAP, its better to be safe than sorry.
Call your doctor. It could be your water bag leaking. It happen to me with my first daughter.
I would definitely call your ob/gyn and asked to be seen. If it happens regularly, then you'll be able to show them. If not, maybe you can take a sample for them.

Have you went to the ER?? If your doctor is so hard to get a hold of that is not a good thing at all. If you are in my home town I know an excellent Doctor that took really good care of me with my last child and My sister is going to him now. (She is a high risk Pregnancy) So please let us know what has happened.
If you want to know the name of the doc just send me a letter.
I wish you the best!!!
Call your doctor but try not to worry too much. As a new mom myself with #2 on the way, let me be the first to welcome you to the "you no longer control your world club". Oddly enough you don't even get to have control over bodily functions the way you used to and you won't for a long time. It could very well be urine and you just may not realize it. If you're like me when pregnant I drink twice the amount of liquids as normal, and my pee is almost always clear and odorless (depending on what I've eaten that day.) I pee my pants at least 5-6 times a day...LOL...just a little. Im 23 weeks right now, and the same thing happend with pregnancy #1 which started around 20 weeks, when the baby got big enough to apply pressure to my bladder. There's nothing you can do, so wear a liner, and be prepared to change clothes a lot more. Which isn't that bad, because it will get you used to doing laundry daily, which is going to happen anyway once the baby comes home. Congrats on the baby, it's the most fun job you'll ever have!
if it's clearish fluid and it's just leaking out, you might want to check in with your doc, just in case.
KM,
It could totally be just the increased cervical fluid, but that's what I thought too . . .and had a baby 12 hours later (29 weeks). Call your doctor or midwife and go get checked. We were told to go to labor and delivery "just to make sure" that my water hadn't broken . . .it had.
It is better to be safe than sorry. Please, please go get checked.

You need to call your OB doctor or midwife right now. It may just be the increased discharge that women often get in pregnancy, but it sounds like your water may have broken prematurely. There are ways your Dr/midwife can check to see what the fluid is, and if your water did break this early there are some treatments they need to start right away. They will ask you if you are leaking or wet all the time or just small wetness occasionally. They will ask when you started noticing this fluid, the color, any odor, and if you have felt any cramping or uterine tightening. Please don't wait, make sure you get seen today.
Good Luck.

If you are sure it isn't urine, I'd call your physician. I had the same thing, but I was near delivery. It "could possibly" be aminiotic fluid and the Dr might need to be alerted.
You should probably call your doctor. It could be amniotic fluid, which can be fine...or a problem. Good luck!
First off, Congratulations on your baby. You're going to have a lot of fun and get a lot of advice just remember what works for someone else may not work for your baby let your instincts guide you and flood that baby with love and the nurses at your peditritions office are always there for advice and help and read, read, read. Now for you problem, some leaking is normal but you may want to consult with your o.b. just to make sure eveything is ok, as long as you're feeling ok and you're not dripping with fluid you should be fine until you can get in to your doctor. Good Luck with everything.
I was leaking fluid also during my last months of pregnancy and never thought anything about it. I just attributed it to regular pregnancy stuff, (peeing when I sneeze and stuff.) However, when I went in for one of my last check ups, the doctor checked my amniotic fluid and I was severely low and had to induce that day. So make sure your doctor knows and he should do an ultrasound to make sure of your amniotic fluid levels. The baby was fine and everything went perfect but you just never know.
Hi there,
You should get checked out as soon as possible. You could be leaking amniotic fluid or it could just be urine. They have a quick test at the docs office to see which of those it is. If you are leaking fluid they will take extra care of you and the baby boy.
Good luck.
