Wanted to see if anyone could offer suggestions on a multic-cultured church in Tampa or the surrounding area. We just moved here and have been attending a church close by thet we like however, they do not have a junior high program. They have a 6th-12th grade program that meets on Sunday nights and we were looking for a church that has a junior high program that meets on Sundays so the kids can connect with oter kids there age and here minsitering that is relevant to them. (High school issues are different then JR high) WE have een attedning non-denominational church but would consider others. Please respond.
Oh my gosh, Thank you, Thank you , Thank you. Your responses were overwhelming. I have tried to go on every website for all the churches that were recommended. Two churches were recommended multiple times; Grace Family Church and Calvary. We went to Grace Family church today and I enjoyed it. It was very similiar to our home church in Atlanta where we lived for some time. We were planning on going to visit two of the other churches recommeded; Calvary and St. James and maybe others but the kids are like "Mom lets just pick one". (They are ready to settle down and meet some friends) Thank you every body for all of your suggestions. Brittany especially thank you for the Buddy Break ministry heads up. Heather and all of you that recommended Grace, hope to meet some of you. It was kind of lonely sitting by myself on Sunday:) I plan on going this Saturday to their 2nd Saturday. (If I can find a babysitter that is) Outreach was the ministry I served in at my other church. This mamasource had been just awesome for a family like ours that has just relocated to the area:):):)
I go to Grace Family Church on VanDyke in Lutz. Its AWESOME & the programs for children are amazing! Its a huge church, which was a little overwhelming at first, but everyones so friendly, the music is great & the preacher is very real & down to earth. I would like to personally invite you to St. James United Methodist in Tampa Palms. We have fabulous, Christ-centered and Spirit-led contemporary youth worship. What is Buddy Break?
Buddy Break is a FREE respite program designed to give caregivers of kids with special needs (VIP kids) a break from their ongoing care-giving responsibilities for three hours on a Saturday once a month. With the love of Jesus, we will minister to your child. Your child can make new buddies, have fun playing games, hear and see great children’s stories, videos, music, and more… and you, the caregiver, get a break!
Who are VIP Kids?
VIP’s are kids with special needs, which include any physical, mental, or medical disability, chronic or life threatening illness, or those that are medically fragile. This program is for VIP children birth ages 2-16 years old, and their siblings age 4 through 5th grade.
Why is there a need for Respite Care?
We understand that the weight of finding proper doctors, teachers, and financial resources for the child’s care can take a tremendous toll on the family of a child with special needs. Those responsibilities, as well as the never-ending demands for daily care of the child, are squeezed into days already filled with the demands of caring for a household, siblings, and self. Opportunities to take some time for yourself, run errands, or plan special one-on-one outings with your children or spouse are probably rare.

I go Grace Lutheran on Dale Mabry and Linebaugh. I love it. It has a traditional service but also a contemporary service with lots of music. It also has a junior and senior high kids program. I don't have a child that age but have ben impressed by the amount of activities they offer. Let me know if you want more info.

yes, welcome to Tampa A.. through my sister God has lead my family to Tampa Baptist Church on the corner of Sligh Ave and Florida Ave. i am not sure if they seperate the Jr. High student from the Sr. High, i do know that most of our Sr. High student work as Youth Leaders with ALL of the children in our church. they do many great things together. this summer the youth group went to camp in Ft Lauderdale and many of them were able to pay for the trip by helping with different fundraisers (pampered chef party, rummage sale..) we have a wonderful Pastor, his name is Eddy, he makes it a point to meet and greet the members and visitors, is very passionate about the Word of God. our Church Family has too many wonderful qualities to list. i do have a 13 yo neice that is in the Youth Program and she absolutley LOVES it. they meet on Sundays and Wednesdays and at times they plan other get togethers on the weekends. i am inviting you to join us to experience what our church has to offer. there are two services ###-###-#### (traditional) and 1045-1145 (contemporary)--my family attends the contemporary service, if you choose to visit our church we would be honored to have you and your family sit with us, i would also like to meet you out front and show you where the children meet (how old are your children?). I truly feel the presence of God in our church.

Welcome to Tampa. We have been going to Calvary Chapel for a long time. We just finished our new building in Lutz on Livingston. The address is 17538 Livingston. We meet Sunday mornings at 8:30 and 10:45. The 10:45 service also has nursery care for infants. After worship the children go into their own age grouped classes. There are thousands of Calvary Chapels all over the U.S. and we are a Christian bible based church.
