I am looking for a good double jogging stroller and am looking for suggestions. I have a 4 year old with special needs so the "cockpit" needs to be deep enough because although she is skinny she is tall. I am eager to get some exercise and get some fresh air.

What can I do next?

I have been searching for months for a good double jogger. This is what I came up with...

You will want a jogger with a swivel wheel. That makes it easy to manover when you are walking. It also will lock if you want to jog.

I think the best one for you might be the Schwinn Jogger with swivel wheel. The reason I say this one is because the seat is tilted back - not so much the back of the seat but the part where you bottom sits. Like a bucket seat. This is just an extra safety precaution for those who really jog. Gravity helps keep the kids in.

Another awesome feature is that the canopy is not attached to the back so it can tilt all the way forward if the sun is low and in the child's eyes. I loved that feature!
look at it here.

Schwinn Jogger with swivel wheel.

I also learned that In Step brand and Schwinn are the same company. You will find little differences between them.

The schwinn was my top choice - good price too!
But my hubby didn't think my two year old would like to be sitting back so tilted. So ... I compromised and we ended up getting the Baby Trend Jogger through Babies R Us. It is not top of the line but for our purposes it will be fine.

Hope that helps!

Hi K.,

The most important thing to look at for a jogging stroller, especially a double is that the front wheel turns. Although some jogging strollers seem to cost as much as a first car and you may be tempted for the less expense one. Spend the extra money for one that the front wheel is able to swivel. Otherwise you will end up picking up the back end of the stroller to turn any corners. I love the BOB strollers.
Hope that helps

It's possible to have the jogger seat reconfigured to suit a disabled child - my dauther did it for my granddaughter. I think it was thru one of the med supply companies.

These big, sturdy strollers are great!

I saw some other Moms said the same thing about making sure you get a swivel wheel in the front. Besides that, another option is getting a Burly (bike trailer) and buying a stroller conversion kit for it. Can be pricey, but it's so easy to maneuver and pretty roomy inside.
