Kaiser Panorama City - Dr. Marilyn Amis. Head of Pediatrics. She is awesome and will discuss a schedule and non combo options.
I've been following the advice from family and friends on delaying my daughter's vaccinations. I was not vaccinated until I was close to 1 years old. I was refused service at Cedars Sinai after I told the pediatrician I wanted to spread out and delay vaccinations. All of the doctors I have contacted said they will not accept my daughter unless she gets "caught up" (which means she has to have all of the shots at an even more aggressive pace). I can't find a doctor in Los Angeles that will do a delayed schedule. My daughter is now 6 months old. I would like to start getting her vaccinated. I'm not against vaccinations, I just want to spread them out but I'm getting the cold shoulder from doctors and I've been refused service (even though I pay more than $500 a month for insurance).
Does anyone know a pediatrician in the Los Angeles area that will do a delayed vaccination schedule. I would greatly appreciate your help.

Hi J.. We take our daughters (only when necessary) to Dr. Paul Fleiss in L.A. His number is ###-###-####. Our daughters are now 5 and 3 years old. To this day, they have never been vaccinated. They are healthy and happy, going to the same pre-school. Where I was born, children were not vaccinated (at that time) until we were around 7 yrs old, when our immune systems have matured. There is also Dr. Paul Crane at ###-###-####. He's also very good at giving the parents the power to educate themselves and choose what's best for their children. Good luck.
Dr. Happy Khanna in Glendale. Not thrilled about it, but willing to work with you.
Dr. Jay Gordon's practice in Santa Monica. (They don't take insurance, but fantastic practice)
Dr. Nancy Blumstein in Culver City
Dr. Daniel Brousseau in Pasadena.
Try Dr. Fleiss - ###-###-####. He is in the Los Feliz area. There is another doctor in his practice who sees most of the patients now (can't remember her name) and she is lovely. Good luck.
I am not sure if my pediatrician will do this but I LOVE him and he has been our doctor since my son was born. He spends time, explains things, LISTENS, and is just WONDERFUL in general. The down-side for you might be that he is in Little Tokoyo...but it wouldn't hurt to call and talk to him first. His contact info is:
Dr. George (Nakashima) @ Nikki Pediatric Group

They have Sat office hours, we NEVER wait more than 10 min to see the Dr., his staff is nice and helpful...give him a call, you've got nothing to lose.
I too go to Dr. Gordon and have not vaccinated my 6 and 7 year old. There are two other doctors in his office that will also delay to your schedule (Dr. Linda Nussbaum, she prefers to go on schedule but will work with you if you delay, and Dr. Jody Lappin, she prefers to work off a delayed schedule). Yes they are pricey (Dr. Jay more than the other two), BUT, becuase I have not vaccinated, they go to the dr. once a year (except when my daughter had the flu), AND the office is incredibly helpful. When my kids are sick with fevers, I call and talk to the nurses. They advise me on how to handle it and if I should wait to come in. Generally they are having me wait a day or two, and every time the fever went away so I did not need to go in. Even when my daughter (7) had the flu, she had 105 for 5 days and I talked to them every day. The fever went away, but when it came back at 102, I was nervous of something secondary so I went in. It was nothing and she got over it. Now, if it was the swine flu, she is natually vaccinated. My son, 5 at the time, never got it and has yet to go to the dr for being sick.
Basically, I think the money is worth it (and you should get some back on insurance). I also see Dr. Feder on occasion if I am looking for something to "give" (homeopathy remedies). I like her a lot too.
Good luck.
I think Dr Rachel Kramer in Beverly Hills is open to a somewhat delayed schedule. Her number is ###-###-####.
I believe Dr. Lauren Feder also supports a flexible vaccination schedule. Good luck!!!
I second the Dr. Guy Efron recommendation. He is willing to work with you on vaccines, and he is a fantastic doctor.
Try Dr. Guy Efron in Beverly Hills. He's usually very open to working with patients but I'm not sure what exactly his take is on the whole delayed schedule thing. Good luck!
Dr. Lauren Feder. www.drfeder.com
She's great and allows vaccinations on whatever schedule you'd like or you don't have to vaccinate at all.
Good luck!
Dr Jay Gordon will of course. He is the only one Ive heard of in LA who will do a very very delayed vaccination schedule. But I dont think any insurance companies work with him, so you would have to pay out of pocket, and I hear he is expensive.
I went with a *slightly* delayed vaccination schedule (no more than 2 vaccines per appointment. And I had to take my daughter for vaccines once a month, to keep her current). We started this at her very first appointment, at one week old. My doctor was Dr. Susan Schreiber in Beverly Hills. I dont know if they are taking new patients, but you should Google her. She is very good in all aspects of pediatrics, not just the vaccine thing.
However, if you want a more delayed vaccine schedule than this, I dont think she would do it. Like almost all pediatricians, she doesnt believe think vaccines cause or trigger autism. She offers the more flexible vaccine schedule as a way of working with parents, because her belief is - if doctors arent flexible at this, many parents wont vaccinate at all, and that would be worse in the long run.
I loved her, but I had to switch doctors because the drive was too far for me. Im in Pasadena. I've since switched to a pediatrician in Pasadena who offers the same schedule option (2 vaccines her month, every month). This pediatrician's own son has autism, and so this issue is very close to his heart). He's done the research, and really followed this issue - and even he doesnt think vaccines trigger autism. He offers the flexible schedule for the same reason as Dr. Schreiber.
I think many doctors offer the "no more than 2 vaccines per month" option.
Hope this is helpful.
