Hi there, I am soon to be mom of a lovely baby boy. I would love to find a good family doctor in Wichita KS, perferably on the east side. I am open minded and would love to find a doctor or pediatrician that is open to natural remedies and alternative medicines but well practiced in the traditional medicine offered today.
We use Dr. Larry Hund at Mid-Kansas Pediatrics. He is really good with my kids, 3 years old and 12 weeks. He is extremely intelligent and keeps up with current research. He hasn't specifically recommended any herbal or alternative therapies, but you could ask him. I also like the office. Its big enough that they have Saturday hours and great coverage, but small enough so you don't get lost. The Nurse practitioner are also awesome.
Dr. Brian DeBrot is a practicing General Practicioner and Pediatrician - so the whole family can see him. He's great. His office is in Galichia Medical Group at 2600 N. Woodlawn. I am not real sure about alternative medicine, but as far as natural remedies, he is definitely a supporter, and everything they have ever suggested to us has worked. As a plus, his nurse always calls me back in a very timely manner. He has been my son's doctor since he was born (he's 16 months now), and we liked him so much that my husband and I both switched to him, too. Good luck finding someone!
Good Morning M., I go to a PA at Family Medicine East on Rock Rd north of Harry. Her name is Victoria Reed. My husband & Daughter in law uses Dr. Scott Meyer, he is awesome also. Will take time with you and get to the heart of the problem. They aren't the Hit and run type Dr.s.

Love my Mid KS Peds dr.s. We go on the west side but know most of the docs from both. They may not automatically go to an alternative to "western Medicine" but I've never had one discount something that was a valid option. They also have strict policies in their office about over prescribing antibiotics. great when you have one child who get sick on occasion but not so great when you have one with strep then the next one or two have it the next day, they have to have a positive test before they prescribe antibiotics. Congrats on the new one and good luck to your beginning family.
