Try Marie at Hilites in Fulton. Have been in the paper and salon has a good rep. Her brother Dimitrios used to do my hair but has been traveling the world now teaching others his technique. They do all forms of hair. ###-###-####.
Hello all!
I recently moved here and I am in desperate need of a good hair stylist in the Columbia area. I need someone who is good with long hair and cutting layers and who is also good with color.
Thank you for your help!

I love Salon Marielle. It's on Main Street in Ellicott City. (Bonus - you get a little shopping time to yourself before or after an appointment!) I see Allison. She's great.
Amanda at the Cavallaro company ###-###-#### www.cavallaroandco.com in the Columbia Mall. She is awesome with length and color and is constantly staying up on the newest techniques and styles.
I go to George of New York on Centre Park Drive.

L. Thorton did a fantastic job on my hair for my wedding in 2005, and I've been going to her ever since. She's helped me pick out a new style from time to time that's new but not too different, so I still look like me.
They have a number of other great stylists as well. My sister gets a cut and color there from whomever is available. We've both found their rates to be very reasonable. They just extended their hours from 8am-8pm!
I'm on their email list, and if you're interested they're doing a special benefit for STARR today - Sun, 8/23. They've got a moonbounce out in the parking and they're doing special rates for adults and kids (walk-ins only) and seated massages for $15. I was hoping to get over there, but I think our plans for today have changed.
I love Candi at Talkn' Heads in Ellicott City. It is on Rte 40, across the street from Chatham Station (there is a Home Depot there). There is a Burger King there and it is in a 2 story building, upstairs. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a nice place.
Good luck!
