Hello ladies. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a dentist in the Southern part of Warren/Madison Heights area? I haven't gone in years (I know, horrible!) and my children need to go, as well as my husband. I hated my old dentist and so I'm leary of just picking one out in the yellowpages. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I highly recommend Dr. Denise Acerino, DDS, in Royal Oak, Michigan. I live in Sterling Heights and take my kids there (she does adults as well). I have had many, many dentists over the years (childhood through my adult life and have never had such a pleasant experience than with this dentist). In addition, my children have been to several dentists and I would never take them to anyone else now). They are the most kid-friendly (and adult friendly) dentist....and believe it or not my kids actually LOVE to go to see this dentist (and staff). I can't speak highly enough about them....you will not regret it!!!! If you go, please use my name as a referral (Milewski) so they know that I recommended them. Thanks and good luck.

I have a NON recommendation. Do NOT visit Dr. Plotnik in Royal Oak. He's a terrible hack.
Good luck!

Hello Miss C.,

Use Redwood Dental Group. I manage the Troy office, but we have offices in Warren and Madison Heights, as well as Shelby, St. Clair Shores and Newburg. I worked as a Dental Assistant in 2002, moved out of state, came back, entered Early Childhood as an Education Specialist for Head Start and am now back at Redwood. I was so impressed wtih the quality of care given to both staff and patients that I was very pleased to return. Our phone numbers: ###-###-####, my line, ###-###-####, my main line, Warren is: ###-###-####, Madison Heights is: ###-###-####. I strongly recommend Dr. Mckutcheon in MH for anyone. Very pleasant Dr. with young children of his own, or my very favorite here in Troy is Dr. Jack, also a dad of two young children. I'd really love to have you come here, but I understand the travel issue. Redwood works with most, close to all, dental insurances. Give one of us a call and enjoy a pleasant dental experience.
Yours in Dental Health, Bren

I take my grandkids to Preferred Dental at 10 Mile and Kelly. ###-###-####. They have adult and pediatric dentists, and we like them a lot.

The best thing about him is he will tell you simply and straight forward how it is and never makes you feel bad if your cleaning habits aren't perfect.

God Bless

Growing up, we saw Dr. Marinelli. He's on Hoover, around 12 Mile...I think. My mom and sister still go to him, even though my sis lives 45 min. away. I have different insurance, so I don't.

Here's what I wrote for someone else who was looking for a ped. dentist:

I have a referal for you. This is a family dentist, not just a pediatric dentist and I will tell you why I'm referring them. When my son was little he had a cavatiy and I took him to pediactric dentists. The first one he freaked out (that was just to get his teeth cleaned and they found the cavatiy)...the second one (tried another pediatric dentist because he freaked out so bad the first time) he freaked out again and we had to leave. They prescribed a sedative so I could come back and get his cavity taken care of. So one day my boss referred his dentist to me (for myself and my son) and we went. My son LOVED it there. They are the coolest people. I never had a problem since. It's Dr. Retford. He is located at the corner of Schoenherr and Common. ###-###-####. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend them. I will NEVER go anywhere else.

Dr. Michael Harris ~ Arch Dental. He is located in Madison Heights on Lincoln Ave. I've been going for years. It's a small office & everyone who works there are wonderful. Dr. Harris reminds me a bit of Kramer on Seinfield! LOL I love it there...I highly recommend it!

Hi C.,

It's not the southern part of Warren, but I used to drive from Livonia to go see the doctors at Knollwood Dental. They are on Schoenherr just north of 15 mile rd. Worth the drive no matter where I lived. I have been going to that office for about 18 years. They are kind, friendly, non-judgemental, and best of all right on time. When they say your appointment is at 2, they take you in at 2!

The first time I took my oldest daughter, she was four and is now twenty two, she came out of that room yelling MOM MOM down the hall. She had two super balls, one in each hand for she and her sister, and when I peeked down and said What? She said, "It was just as fun as I knew it would be!!" She's had the same great attitude about going to the dentist ever since. Both she and her sister ask me to make their appointments, tell me if they think they've gone over six months, etc. A complete 180 from the way I was as a child.

Their phone number is ###-###-####. They really are wonderful. Good luck with whomever you choose. :o)
