I'm getting ready to take my 3 year old for her first dental appointment. Does anyone have a great pediatric dentist they would recommend? I'm in the Elgin/Gilberts/LITH area.

We live in Pingree Grove, and I take my kids to see Dr. Tony at Crystal Lake Pediatric Dental. He is WONDERFUL! To have my 3 and 5 year old boys actually excited to go to the dentist is a great thing! lol

Somebody on this site recommended Dr. Nickelsen when I posted the same request about 6 months ago for taking my 3 year old to his first visit. He's with Pediatric Dentistry on Summit St. in Elgin. Phone number is ###-###-####. We've only been to the one visit so far, but the dentist was so patient and friendly. The person who recommended him has an autistic son who does really well with him, so I thought it was a great referral. :) They have trains in there that my kids loved and my son talked about it positively for a while after (though he did cry when the dentist got close to him to look in his mouth). They also had a little cartoon video for him to watch about the dentist visit before being seen by the dentist.

She's great - only drawback is she's only open Mondays and Thursdays.
We use Crystal Lake Pediatric Dental. We took my son for the first time when he was about 18 months and they were really great with him.
