Hi B.! Cantina Laredo in downtown Fort Worth is a very nice restaurant. Their food is excellent, the environment is romantic, and their prices are reasonable. Hope you have a wonderful birthday!!
Hi ladies,
We are somewhat new to the area and live off of North Beach and 820. My husband wants to take me out to a nice dinner for my birthday and I am trying to think of somewhere good. Of course The Cheesecake Factory is always good, but I want to try somewhere different. I really like just about anything so all suggestions are welcome! We don't want to break the bank eating there, so somewhere moderately priced, but nice would be good. As far as location...we are wanting to eat maybe around the Southlake area or downtown Ft. Worth. Thanks for all suggestions!!

Copelands of New Orleans is good. It's in the same area as Cheesecake Factory in Southlake.
If you like German food, Edelweis is AWESOME! They have live entertainment that starts at 7pm I think. When we go we order an appitizer, share the big sampler dinner ($5 more for the extra plate, but well worth it), and get dessert. For the two of us tip and all is usually between $40-$50. The atmosphere is great for a couple's night out or dinner for the whole family. They make sure you take your time and enjoy it all. We usually are there for about an hour and a half, but not because service is slow. The atmosphere pretty much dictates that you eat, relax, eat some more, relax again. Anyway, it is located west of Downtown just south of Ridgmar Mall. From I-30 exit Hwy 183 South and follow it down to the traffic circle. It will be on the east side of the circle.
Hope you have a great time.
I like the Melting Pot Fondue...very romantic place to go. We are going there this year for my birthday dinner.

Blue Mesa is YUMMY and if you sign up for their Chileheads club on their website, they send you a nice email with a free appetizer. Their sweet potato chips and salsa choices (free as you wait) are wonderful. And, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their flatbread and their chimayo corn. They are in Fort Worth, just south of I-30 on University. Scrumpdidliumptious!
For somewhere unique and special, I'd either go with Ruggerri's or 62 Main in The Village at Colleyville. Ruggerri's is Italian and Morris, the owner, will greet you with a rose on Friday and Saturday nights and they have live piano music...small, elegant, and the food is wonderful. You can't go wrong with 62 Main - Chef David McMillan always has a fabulous menu where you walk away going wow! Another elegant, quaint, and extremely special place - Colleyville's own "hidden treasure"...my 2 favorites are the fillet if you want to go for beef or the scallops for seafood...well...the catch of the day is always wonderful...I love his mushroom soup...I could go on and on...don't forget the flavored tea...my favorite!
Be sure and let me know if you visit one of these locations...would love to know what you thought.
Carrabbas is great. It's located at 121 and 114... I live in Keller and it takes me about 20 minutes to get there. Their food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful as well. The food is cheaper than Cheesecake Factory. You can go to www.carrabbas.com to check out their menu. Happy Birthday!
