Hi Moms!

I absolutely love the hair salon I have gone to for over 15 years (JonDavid in Springfield), but we recently moved to the Herndon/Reston area and it is just too far now. Can someone please recommend a great stylist at a salon close to Herndon/Reston/Tysons that is good with hard to manage hair? I have curly hair that I like to straighten (so someone great with a blowdry), and need to color and cut my hair as well. Thanks for your advice!

What can I do next?

i've heard great comments about Rodi salon in tysons area just off 123 at old courthouse road for curly hair.

i used to go to the jouvence aveda salon in reston, but there is another salon in reston that is also supposed to be great salon nordine (i think that is what it is called). one of the stylist that i used to see headed to salon nordine. my last salon was ronnie elias in oakton in oakton just off 123 near hunter mill. my husband also went there.

Hi,

I found Zoya, at Salon Cielo in Tyson's II, and I have thin, curly hair that I wear both straight and curly. She not only gives me a great cut and cool style, but cuts it so it wears nicely both ways, as well as just air dried (since as a new mom I often don't have time to do anything but run a comb through it!) Also, her cuts grow out nicely. I've been known to not return in 2 months but instead 3-6 months later, and I'm still liking how may hair is behaving.

Plus, she's just great. A wash, cut, style for me is $40, which in McLean I think is a steal! Also, while I don't get color my friend does at the same shop and they do a great job with single or multiple shades.

Good luck and let us know where you decided to go!

~J

I go to Kristen at PR Partners in Reston and she is great. She does my cut and color.

Try Maggie or her daughter Lauren at Salon Szabo in Great Falls (right off Rte 7), ###-###-####. They can cut and do color as well. They both have curly hair so would know what you were dealing with. They are both lovely, too. Good luck, it is stressful to change hair stylists!
