C.,
I don't know how you feel about parochial schools but my daughters go to Espiritu Santo Catholic School and it's excellent. They have a very good middle school beginning in the 6th grade. Other than that, I don't personally know of any non-denominational ones in Clearwater but in St. Pete you have Shorecrest (a very upscale and highly regarded preparatory school) and Berkeley in Tampa, also a prep. school. Best of luck to you.

When my daughter was due to start K I started looking into schools. The one I narrowed it down to was Lakeside Christian School. I ended up homeschooling but if/when we do go to school, that's my top choice. I know teachers that have taught there and our church have had several students who have graduated from there. I've heard nothing but good things about it. You can check it out at www.lakesidechristianschool.org .

Hello C.,
My name is S. Gibson and I have two children that attend Suncoast Waldorf School. I will speak as a parent but will also reveal that I am currently working as the Enrollment Coordinator. The academics in Waldorf education are vigorous and lively and are brought through the arts and humanities bringing a nice balance to the curriculum. My children are studying content that I didn't study until college. Waldorf education is also (standardized)test-free which produces a more stress-free environment and the students have two recess periods throughout the day. My children love to go to school and that means alot ot me as a parent. If you would like to know more about waldorf education you can visit a number of websites. I recommend you visit www.waldorfanswers.org and www.whywaldorfworks.org. They're both very imformative. You may also contact me if you would like to visit Suncoast Waldorf School. The school is located at 1857 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor. We have a Campus Visitation Day on Thursdays from 9am-noon and we have an Open House scheduled for Saturday February 16, 11am-1pm. OR you can call to schedule an appointment. The school's website is www.suncoastwaldorf.org and the number is ###-###-####. I hope that this information is helpful to you and that we have the opportunity to meet in the near future. Sincerely, S. Gibson
