I don't know how you feel about parochial schools but my daughters go to Espiritu Santo Catholic School and it's excellent. They have a very good middle school beginning in the 6th grade. Other than that, I don't personally know of any non-denominational ones in Clearwater but in St. Pete you have Shorecrest (a very upscale and highly regarded preparatory school) and Berkeley in Tampa, also a prep. school. When my daughter was due to start K I started looking into schools. The one I narrowed it down to was Lakeside Christian School. I ended up homeschooling but if/when we do go to school, that's my top choice. I know teachers that have taught there and our church have had several students who have graduated from there. My name is S. Gibson and I have two children that attend Suncoast Waldorf School. I will speak as a parent but will also reveal that I am currently working as the Enrollment Coordinator. The academics in Waldorf education are vigorous and lively and are brought through the arts and humanities bringing a nice balance to the curriculum. My children are studying content that I didn't study until college. Waldorf education is also (standardized)test-free which produces a more stress-free environment and the students have two recess periods throughout the day.
