Check out http://www.coloradosafetyeducators.org/ -- I went to one of their presentations at my MOPS group and the speaker was fantastic.
Does anyone know of a selfdefense course that would be suitable for a 17 year old girl and myself (mid 40s) - we live in the DTC, so anywhere South Denver or Central Denver would work. One of my friends just mentioned her young teen was assaulted while out jogging, and it got me thinking that it would be good for both of us.
Thanks in advance!

Hi J. - there is a self-defense class being offered at the Denver Jazzercise location (Colorado and Yale) either this Saturday or next. You can call ###-###-#### for more information, if interested.
You mentioned DTC so maybe this will work for you. Englewood Police Department used to do a Self Defense Class for women. I haven't lived/worked in Englewood in a while so I don't know if they still offer it. But it might be worth checking out. I felt like they gave me a lot of good, practical tools for defending myself.
There is a gym in south Denver called High Altitude that was started by Nate Marquart and his wife. (He's a UFC fighter). They are really nice people and offer classes. You don't have to compete either. Just train. They have a crossfit class that they recommend.
