I have been taking my daughter to water Babies on Apricot Ave in Campbell since she was five months. They cover the pool in the winter, so you can continue swimming through the seasons.
I am looking for a swim school in san jose/campbell area for my 5 year old son. I would prefer if it had an indoor pool so he can continue swimming year round. It would be great if you guys could suggest some names.
thanks
Thank you guys for all your responses. I talked to waterbabies and I am sending my son there.

Water Babies is great. My 4 year old son started swimming lessons there when he was 7 months and is a little fish. We started our 8 month old there this summer. They teach aggressively so be prepared for your child to go under the first or second lesson. Their website is www.waterbabiesswim.org.
Almaden Valley Athletic Club has a great indoor pool/kids program. Ev
Check out AVAC on Camden Avenue is San Jose.

We are on a similar quest. My daughter learned to swim this summer with the city aquatics program http://www.sanjoseca.gov/prns/aquaticsindex1.asp
but it's closed until next summer. In weeks she went from only swimming with a floaty swim suit, to being able to swim nearly the length of the pool - but she doesn't want to take the winter off!
I know 2 kids who did at least 3 months of lessons at AVAC, and still can't swim (and the parents are furious).
The indoor YMCA downtown has a lot of chlorine last I was there, but I need to check it out again

and her girls have been making steady progress with their 2 day a week program.
If you look here

it lists the local team, and a few have lessons.
You really have to dig, for example, to find out Presenation HS has swim lessons for 5 year olds on Saturdays

(bottom of page mentions begining racers, still can't find mention of the lessons I was told about)
GOOD LUCK finding a program
Water Babies is Campbell is outdoors, but very warm for the kids to swim year round. YMCA on the Campbell Saratoga border has an indoor pool. They are located on Quito.
Good luck. Swimming is a wonderful way to keep your kids active. My daughter loves it, and I grew up swimming year round.
I would never go back to AVAC (Almaden Athletic Club). They are very high priced and your kid won't know how to swim even after three years of instruction. My whole neighborhood stopped going to them. They give your child about 5 to 8 minutes of instruction for the whole 45 minutes you're there. Water Babies is your best bet.
Water Babies in Campbell is great. All three of my boys learned to swim there and they put a dome over the pool in the winter months. It is located close to the Pruneyard. I believe it is still running but I was not able to find it in my phone book? The owners name is Gina and she is great with kids as are all of the staff. Hope this helps.
Hi R.,
AVAC in San Jose is great. They are located on Camden Avenue. My daughter taught swimming there for years. When my kids were little, they took from Water Babies in Campbell. I am not sure if they are there anymore, but they were located on Apricot Ave. Good Luck
I would also recommend Water Babies in Campbell. Both of my children learned to swim there. In the winter months they have a dome enclosure over the pool.
Hello,
I was really excited about Waterbabies and all the reviews and recommendations from the moms out there. But then I looked on Yelp and have you guys seen this? http://www.yelp.com/biz/water-babies-swim-school-campbell...
Nothing but bad stuff. Now I'm not sure I want to send my kids there. Is anyone sending their kids there now? I have 2 1/2 year old twins. Just thought I'd ask again or share what I read. Thanks!
try AVAC(Almaden Valley Athletic Club). they, i think, have year round lessons in their indor pool.
hope this helps,
T.
