Looking for Any Advice About Preschools in the Antioch, IL Area

Saint Peter school offers a wonderful preschool program for 3s and 4s altough you have to be that age before September 1st, so you couldn't do it this year, but I highly recommend that you check it out for next year. They offer 1/2 day or full day in both programs.

Doesn't your daughters daycare do the basics with her, colors, numbers, letters, etc. Newly 3s are not ready for school and really what's the rush she is going to be in school long enough. Let her enjoy being a kid just a little bit longer.

We are in your area as well. My son goes to the Park District Program Camp Crayon and it is phenomenal, I hope I spelled that correctly:) Only thing, they have to be 3 by Sept. 1, so it will not work for this year. I HIGHLY recommend it. My son is going in the 4 year old class and is so excited to see his old teachers and meet his new ones. If you can sign her up next year, you would not regret the decision!

Hello! I am moving out of your area and back to Ohio where I am from. However, Round Lake Park District has some awesome preschool programs that I think you would be very happy with. I used to work at the site behind Kohls, off of Rollins Road and Orchard Lane. Anyway, they offer mini classes that run for 6 weeks at a time. You can enroll for a session or continue for multiple sessions. It is a great way to start out and introduce your child to an experience outside the home. Lakes Community High School has a preschool program that pairs up the preschoolers with high schoolers for one-on-one interaction. The program runs October thru December and March thru May. Each session is 10 weeks long, 3 days a week (Mon/Tues/Thurs), mornings only, and it's very affordable. We were on a waiting list but my 4 year old daughter is starting this fall. You can contact Karen Schneider at the high school for more info. I also heard good things about the Lindenhurst Community Center. We were enrolled there until the high school told us there was an opening for us. It's a little more expensive but there are more options as far as times -- morning and/or afternoon. Good luck.

L., I know I am late in responding to this but there is a great little preschool in Lindenhurst. Red Apple Academy. They allow the children to start at 21/2 if they are potty trained. I think they still have some openings for this year.
