I am looking for a low cost/free doula to help me out with my VBAC I want to attempt in Jan. If anyone has ANY advice on this topic please help me out. I am just looking for a good support system and facts about the truth of VBACs. Thank you so much!

What can I do next?

Hi L.,
I am also looking to have a VBAC in Feb. My Ob is open to the idea as long as things are 'normal'. It would be great to have someone to talk to about this, so if you are interested, please email me. My daughter is 9 months and I am due in February, so I am concerned about the amount of time between the deliveries being too close. My previous birth instructor has had 2 VBAC's and about to attempt a 3rd....she is a great support, however she is in Northwest Fort Worth (I recently moved to this area). I am nervous about it and would love more info too. Thanks for your request; wish I could help.

i used a doula - Laurie Campbell but she lives in Grand Prairie.
email her and she can probably connect you with a good one. she is a darlyn and i will use a doula again and again and again because of her! infact, my otherwise very conservative doctor's practice (actaully its the entire hospital - plano presby that was very conservative and unwelcoming of doulas) became open to doulas because of Laurie!

she would be much more expensive now. at the time she helped me, she needed the credits for full certification. but she can tell you who might be less pricey
i know another great doula who i couldnt use then cos of the cost but who might know other great doulas at lower cost. i did use her though for regular pregnancy massages. her name and # is: Veronica: ###-###-####

i cant find the website now where i got my wealth of doula info but during my preggo days, ivillage.com's preg website was the most valuable resource i ever used in my entire life!!!

best wishes and God's grace with your pregnancy and delivery!

Hi! I'm a student midwife and I know many doulas in the area as well as midwives around here. LMK if I can help you in any way with your VBAC. We do many VBACs in our practice where I am completing my internship.

There are also some VBAC links on my website.

L.,
I am interested to hear the feedback you get on this question. I had my first child in January and have been wondering (since the emergency c-section) if I should try VBAC next time. My baby, Ryan, got stuck and would not pass through my pelvic bone, so I am hesitant to go through labor again IF I will just end up having surgery. I used the Bradley method of natural childbirth, and everything was wonderful up to the point that we determined he was not going to make it out without surgery. I don't know if this is similar to your situation, but would anticipate any feedback from your VBAC experience.
Thanks so much and the very best to you...C.
