I am completely burned out on Baby Einstein. Are there any other ideas for DVDs that a 14 month old boy would enjoy?

What can I do next?

If you're interested in him learning sign language, Baby Signing Time has two great dvd's that my daughter loves and learned so much from. The songs are really well done and it's one of the few movies that doesn't make us cringe when she asks to watch it.

These may seem really cheesy, but my son loves these, and started at about that same age. http://www.yourbabycanread.com/ I am not convinced he can read, but they have certainly helped his vocabulary and he enjoys watching them more than he ever did Baby Einstein. Don't get them from the site though. You can usually get them cheaper on Ebay.

My son's favorites (like many others) Elmo, Sesame Street (they have some great DVD sets), etc. He is currently into the one Thomas & Friends DVD he just got. It has several different episodes focusing on various topics (reading, songs, feelings and sharing - which some believe boys need a little more assistance with than girls). He also finds the Barney DVD's fun (as long as there is music and dancing). Not my personal favorite, but he seems to enjoy it!

The Elmo videos are great and my son loved the Little People videos also! Leap Frog also has a few videos that were wonderful for that age! Enjoy!

No child under age two should watch television at all, the Academy of American Pediatrics advised in 1998. Doctors blame TV for increasing aggression and obesity in children, now they add ADHD risk to early TV use.

My son LOVES curious buddies. He laughs and giggles. It's great. Also, Max and Ruby - it's a real hit with my son, too.

In addition to The Wiggles, as was already recommended, any Sesame Street DVDs, especially Elmo. Also, don't know if you have cable (Noggin, Nick Jr.), but the shows my kids liked most at that age were Maisy, Miffy, Max & Ruby, Maggie & the Ferocious Beast (also known as Maggie & the Roastest Beef in our house - LOL), Blue's Clues, & Franklin. I don't know if any of those are on DVD or not. Oh, and while they are definitely NOT my favorite, for some reason, kids that age seem to like Teletubbies. :-)

If you are looking for educational DVD's. The BabyBumbleBee collection is wonderful. I have 4 year old twin daughters. One is autistic and had major speech delays. These videos were recommended for her but both my girls love them. We have the entire set. They have greatly improved Julia's speech and communication. She has progressed more from the video's than she did with just speech therapy. My girls also loved the Curious Buddies. They still watch them. A good place to shop is Fry's. They have DVD's we were unable to find anywhere else. Prices are decent too.
