Looking for Good Female Doctor in John Muir Network

I just received a letter from John Muir that my doctor has passed away. I have been instructed to select a new physician from their enclosed list. I would prefer to have a female doctor this time, but I don't just want to pick a random name from a list. Does anyone have a recommendation for a doctor in the John Muir Network? Or anyone I should stay away from?

What can I do next?

If you are looking for an OBGYN I would recommend Andrea Gainey, she is in the John Muir network and located in Walnut Creek acrsoo the street for the main hospital. She is very personable and kind and I would not go to anyone else. Her number is ###-###-####

Dr. Elizabeth Scheuling in Lafayette. I have been a patient of hers since 2000. She delivered my twins in 2003. I couldn't imagine seeing anyone else! Great bedside manner and she sits and listens to you when you talk! Not many doctors actually chat with you.. ###-###-####. The nurse practioners are good too!

I don't know if she's on the list or not but Rebecca Parish is great. She's a young doctor with 2 young children (she was a Gymboree customer of mine - that's how I met her). She was trained at an excellent medical school and their office is efficient.

Couple of recommendations --

OB/Gyn - Dr. Margaret Craig (Walnut Creek)
Primary Care Physician - Dr. Mary Lowen (Walnut Creek)

I've been with both of them for 14+ years...both are terrific.

I just changed practitioners to the John Muir Network. My physician is Dr. Mary Sears, their office has all female practitioners (wasn't an intentional thing on their part, just happened that way), office was recommended by my neighbor who sees Dr. Michelle Bricker. their office is on Brookwood Road just off Hwy 24 in Orinda. I've been there once so far and have been *very* impressed by the quality of care from the office staff *and* the medical staff. They really seem to take the time to make sure you have your questions addressed, and you don't get the impression that they're trying to get people in and out of the office as quickly as possible. The physician's assistant called me on the phone a couple days after my appt. to let me know test results and check if the prescribed meds were helping.

contact info for the office:
140 Brookwood Rd #201
Orinda, CA
