Unusual ideas... try the winery in Grapevine located off Hwy. 121 and Hall-Johnson. Or Buca di Beppo in Southlake - family style Italian dining, they have a choice of big rooms for large parties and definitely welcomes 'not so quiet' groups.
Hi,
My husband will be turning 40, and I would like to throw him a surprise party for about 50 people. Anyone have a suggestion for a great restaurant with a private room or a hotel or something completely out of the ordinary. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I'm not overly concerned about the cost at this point. I just want it to be great for him!
Thank you!!

Hi J.
I would recommend Joe T Garcia's in Fort Worth. They can do private rooms and the food is great. A lot of fun.
I love to have parties Maggiano's Resturant. They do a great party!
J.,
Try Nick and Sam's steak and seafood in dallas. They have a private event room and can do an event menu for you at a set price. You need to talk to the event coordinator-Sara.
Have a fun party

I've heard the Green Room in Deep Ellum is very very fun.
if you are wine drinkers...try one of the winery's in Grapevine. Pappadeaux's has a big party room. my last "tip"... I was at Chuck E Cheese the other day with my kids (it was a Tuesday lunch) and all of a sudden a group of suits came in. I thought it was maybe VPs of Chuck E Cheese or something...but it was a surprise party. The Birthday boy got there and the whole group looked to have so much fun! They played games and ate pizza. How often do grown men do that?!?!!?!?
I was going to throw a party for my husband at Pump it Up. They have adult parties at night. I thought it would be fun and completely different. We were going to actually make it a surprise for everyone and give them socks before we headed out the door (socks are required at Pump it Up). You can check out their website, I think it is just pumpitup.com. I still plan on doing it sometime, just didn't have anyone to babysit my little one at the time of his last birthday. Just a thought! We have done one at Nick and Sam's and I have heard that Nicola's (Tollway and Legacy in Plano) has a beautiful upstairs dining room.
I would recommend Roy's Restaurant on the Dallas Tollway near The Shops at Willow Bend. They have private rooms and are very unique to the area as their specialty is Hawaiian fusion cuisine. They host luau's which would be something different for your husband's party, especially if you are not too concerned about cost.
Best wishes for a fun evening!

Sounds like fun!
I recommend the Omni Hotel which is off the 635 in Irving I think. They consultant there (don't recall her name) is wonderful and very helpful. They can do a theme party in any of their banquet rooms but I like the space up on one of the top floors. It has windows all around. They allow you the use of a suite just across the hall for restroom use. They have great food. We were so pleased last November when we had a party there for our family.
Try the Texas Motor Speedway. Either facilities at the speedway, or the hotel nearby have great banquet rooms. I've been there for a 50th wedding anniversary party. Very nice.
I'm planning a party right now for that amount of people as well. I looked all over and the easiest was Mondo's located by the Bush Tollway and Alpha. Let me know if this is something your interested in and I will give you the phone # and the contact and more info if you have questions....
