Does anybody have advice on obtaining quality, affordable health insurance for self employed? I am currently a teacher, but want to eventually have my own at home childcare service and I am wondering what kind of health insurance is out there. My husband works for another school district, but the insurance is outrageous. It may be our only option though.
My brother in law is an insurance salesman for Midwest Insurance and they cover only self employed individuals. I'm not sure what the rates are like, but you can call him at ###-###-####, which is his home number and leave him a message. I hope he can help you find something affordable.
Hello B.,
We have insurance thru Unicare. I am a SAHM, and my husband is a mechanic, but the insurance thru his job is way too expensive. We've been using Unicare for 4 years and have been happy with it. The only downside is that they do not cover any maternity expenses. However, when I became pregnant with baby number 2 last year, I was amazed at the discounts that you receive from the hospital and your providers when you pay cash. For instance, my hospital bill was $2700 by pre-paying. If I would have waited until after the delivery and had them bill me, it would have been $8000-$10,000!!
You can look up rates/rate plans at www.unicare.com
Sincerely,
H. L.

David Bundrick ###-###-#### has helped my family for over the past three years with our self employment insurance. He is very knowledgeable about what various companies have to offer the self employed. He looks at insurance needs of his self employed clients. He then researches and finds various insurances/options, that fit those needs, for his clients to choose from. When the insurance policy cycle period ends and comes up for renewal(6 months to a year down the road depending on policy) he is very good at following up, and calling you with a list of some new options. Mr. Bundrick should be able help you get an idea of what insurances are out there to fit your needs.
Did you get any good responses on this? My hubby's insurance through his job keeps going up so we're wondering what our other options are...
